All woodworkers have found it necessary to make a compound angle cut at some point. There is no getting around the fact that if you don't have the right tool making these cuts can be a real pain. There is the Bosch 4410 10-Inch Dual-Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw. With a compound miter saw you can set both the angle and bevel to make sure that you get a clean accurate cut every time.

A miter saw allows you to adjust the angle that you want to cut in either direction, left or right. All miter saws will allow you to cut miters of up to 45 degrees but a a lot of manufacturers are now offering saws like the Bosch 4410 that will allow you to go slightly beyond 45 degrees. This makes the saw more flexible and speeds up your work since you won't switching sides as frequently. Your miter saw should come with a miter gauge that you can quickly and easily adjust and also that is easy to read. The most common angles should have hard stops and you should be able to set the miter to any angle you desire.

A compound miter saw is a saw that allows you to make compound angle cuts. A standard miter saw will only allow you to cut miters a compound miter saw allows you to cut both miters and angles at the same time. That is what makes this such a useful saw, miters and bevels are common cuts for woodworkers having a saw that can do both is great. More importantly it is the only way that you can make an accurate compound angle cut. A compound miter saw will allow you to tilt it by up to 45 degrees in at least one direction in order cut bevels, the top quality saws can be tilted in both directions.

When you hear people talk about the different sizes of miter saws they are talking about the size of the blade. The larger the saw the larger the cut you can make, unfortunately to get the flexibility of a larger saw you are going to have to pay for it. The price of a compound miter saw is largely determined by the size. Most people find the ten inch saw to be a good compromise, it can cut most pieces you will likely encounter at comes at a reasonable price. Although the 8 inch is the cheapest option most people find it to be to small to be all that useful, while the 12 inch can cut pretty much anything it can be pretty expensive. A sliding compound miter saw will allow you to increase the cutting capacity of your saw. The Bosch 4410 10-Inch Dual-Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw will allow you to pull the blade through the piece after you have lowered the saw, this makes it possible to cut larger pieces than would otherwise be possible.
