Full Review

I must start by saying, the only reason we replaced our trusty old KitchenAid dishwasher was because we bought a new refrigerator and stove. Since the new refrigerator and stove were pretty, shiny, new stainless steel appliances my husband insisted we needed to match those new appliances with a stainless steel dishwasher. I was excited because I love to buy new things!

The Bosch SHE47C05UC Stainless Steel Dishwasher is by far the most troublesome appliance I have ever owned in my life. The salesman at the appliance store highly recommended the Bosch dishwasher. I loved the stainless interior and exterior, the 4 wash cycles and of course the Energy Star rating.

We had our dishwasher delivered at the end of September. I noticed dishes really needed to be rinsed off well. In our old dishwasher, I could quite literally put dishes right from the table into the dishwasher and everything would come out sparkling clean. After a few days of basically washing my dishes before putting them into the dishwasher, I figured I must be doing something wrong so I reread the manual. As far as I could tell I was doing everything right. I then called Bosch customer service and they agreed I was doing everything right.

The night before Thanksgiving, my Bosch dishwasher sprung a major leak on my kitchen floor. I called for service and they replaced the door seal. I had 28 people at my house on Thanksgiving and had to hand wash all of those dishes because my new dishwasher wasn't working.

3 weeks later my dishwasher stopped draining. Again, I called for service and they had to replace the pump.

2 weeks after that, a computerized component was replaced. A few weeks after that the door seal went again. To make a long story short I have had my Bosch dishwasher serviced 14 times. The worst part is the service people always seem to infer it was my fault somehow. If I say I am using liquid detergent, they tell me I should use powder. If I say I use powder detergent they say I should use liquid and so on. They even blamed my plumbing??? It's a new house with new plumbing!

In Closing

Overall, I would never recommend a Bosch dishwasher to anyone. I am (im)patiently waiting for the warranty to be up so I can haul my Bosch out to the curb and buy a dishwasher that actually cleans dishes. To sum it up in one word awful.
