Botched Hair Transplants
If you're reading this, you've heard something real nasty about hair transplants and want to find out more about it! And rightfully so. Unfortunately, real hair transplant horror stories do exist. They can be found on the web and they are plentiful. Most of the nightmare caused by bad hair transplant surgery have taken place in the past. It happened a lot in the eighties and nineties to be exact. It's unbelievable that it has gone on for so long without any serious change in the practice. But alas, this is what actually happened in history.
Botched Hair Transplant Surgery
Back in the days, surgeons used crude tools to perform their botched hair transplants. When a client was going to have a strip of tissue excised from the back of his head, blunt scalpels were used. And the wound was sewn up with coarse thread and it always left extreme scarring when it healed up over time. When you've got a lot of scars in the back of your head, don't think you're ever going to have a good night's rest ever again. It'll pretty much be itching and hurting forever and ever.
And I haven't even mentioned the top of the head, where the transplanted hairs were supposed to go. In order to make place for the hair implants, recipient sites have to be created in the scalp. These sites are small wounds that will take a bit of tissue with hair follicles in it. And just like the wound in the back of the head, these wounds were often made with blunt scalpels, which led to very large recipient wounds. They usually didn't heal well, also leaving lots of scarring on the scalp.
Ofcourse, back in those days, it wasn't nearly as easy as it is today to find good information about hair transplants. You didn't have Internet back then. How were all those poor souls supposed to know they were going in for a good maiming instead of a hair recovery? Thankfully, today we do have Internet and because of it people like you and me have plenty of opportunity get get informed about the things we need to know.
With today's online communities, it's becoming increasingly harder for cosmetic surgeons to deliver lousy work and get away with it for a long time. A few unsatisfied people is all it takes for a cosmetic clinic to take serious reputation damage. Should you ever become a victim of lousy cosmetic surgery, then you owe it to yourself and your peers to put it out on the Internet!
