Whether you are a seasoned veteran or a beginner starting out in the game of bowling, below are a variety of bowling tips to inform you on everything you need to know - from A to Z to not only better understand the game so many people love to play, but also get better at it at the same time. Like any sport, practice is going to increase your chances of winning and the quality with which you play the game. Believe it or not, bowling is not just about showing up with a ball and renting some shoes.

Bowling tip number one is going to be practicing your stance; your stance has to do with the way you are standing before you begin. Ideally, you want to be slightly bent at the knees, with your spine angled slightly forward. The way your body is aligned has a lot to do with the direction in which your ball is going to go. Make sure the bowling ball that you have is right for you -- this is a vital factor. Which also leads to the second tip.

Bowling balls can be different in many ways, more experienced players know from personal experience that different balls work for better for different shots that you’re attempting to make. When choosing your bowling ball make sure it is not only appropriate for your shot, but that it is the appropriate weight for your height and body weight. If you are really into the visual appeal of bowling balls you can choose one that is more esthetically pleasing by having it customized to your specific preferences and colors you like.

After you have your ball picked out and practiced your stance, make sure to get a pair of comfortable bowling shoes. Almost all bowling alleys will provide affordable shoe rentals, but again, if you are picky you can buy your own shoes to comfortably suit your feet.

The last bowling tip before you get started is to get set up with a good bowling lane. Whether you bowl frequently or you just go occasionally for fun, you can ask a worker if the lane has been recently oiled or damaged. A damaged lane can significantly ruin your shot because it can knock the ball off course completely, even into the gutter (and no one wants that!).

If your lane is not oiled, you risk the chance of playing a worse game because the texture of the plays a large role in how the ball will go down the lane. If you do not ask a worker about the lane you are about the use, you risking the chance of playing a poor game due to an unsavory bowling alley lane due to not fault of your own style.

Again, whether you are bowling for fun with friends or competing in a league I hope that these bowling tips provided above can help you become a better player. By following these bowling tips, you can significantly improve your score, but it is practice that is going to ultimately going to make the difference.
