Braun 590cc Vs 790cc - What's the Difference?

By Edited May 20, 2016 0 0

Should I Buy a Braun 590cc or 790cc?

Are you trying to figure out which is the better Braun shaver for you -- the 590cc Vs 790cc -- (and basically what the difference is between the Braun 5 series shavers & 7 series shavers)? If so, you have come to the right comparison guide -- where we will systematically breakdown and contrast every aspect & feature of the two shavers. This will in turn give you a clear overview as to what each shaver has to offer you, from which you can make a clear & easy decision (whilst taking price into consideration) as to buy either the 590cc or 790cc.

Fitted Technology

590cc: Active Lift | OptiFoil

790cc: Intelligent Pulsonic Technology | Active Lift | OptiFoil

Both shavers are fitted with an opti-foil systematic design that helps to capture hair and cuts closer to your skin level, along with the active lift -- which is basically just the middle shaver (from the triple cutting action system) that actively lifts & cuts flat lying hair. You will notice that the 790cc also offers the pulsonic technology this basically produces 10,000 mini vibrations every sixty seconds to be even more efficient with shaving (i.e less strokes more hairs cut) -- reducing the time taken considerably (particularly handy if you're in a rush!). Moreover, since the cutting elements have been made from optifoil they have been optimized to ensure skin level cutting but with absolute minimalistic discomfort & irritation caused to the skin.

Shaving Features & Performance

590cc: Contour Adaptive Head | Triple Action Cutting System | Precision Long Hair

790cc: Contour Adaptive Head | Triple Action Cutting System | Precision Long Hair

As briefly touched upon above -- let's explain the triple action cutting system (possessed in both models) -- it is basically the three separate elements that cut your facial hair with the middle active lift trim being the center piece. The other twin cutting elements beside it flex and adapt precisely to you facial contours -- making shaving in problem areas (e.g. under your chin), easy. They also both possess a unqiue & specialised long hair trimm.er for grooming your facial hair (e.g. mustache, side burns, beard, goatees etc.)

Practical Specifications

590cc: Wet & Dry | Washable | Clean & Renew Systems (hygiene/foil indicator)

 790cc: Wet & Dry | Washable | Clean & Renew Systems (hygiene/foil indicator)

Both models are 100% waterproof this allows you to shave either in the shower or dry (which ever suits your preference) as well as of course being very simple to wash -- simply rinse under a running tap. They also come with clean & renew systems -- which is like the docking station that will lubricate, clean (with a alcohol solution, killing 99.999% of bacteria) and charge your shaver, so every time you use it -- it will be like new (it also offers a subtle lemon scent & with the 790cc it also offers the additional fast clean and active drying features with your docking station). They also possess a hygiene indicator detecting how dirty the shaver is and has an auto program selection from the cleaning options as how to best get it back to 'top standard' again.

Personalization

The 790cc also offers a personalization shave where you can choose for it to be either extra sensitive, normal or intensive depending which best suits you to get a more optimal performance (and can be altered depending on the facial area you are shaving). The 790cc also lends itself more to those have particularly sensitive skin (making the 790cc pretty much the best shaver on the market who get skin irritation from electric shavers usually).

Battery Details

590cc: LED indicator (4 stage) | 45 mins run time | Charge: 1 Hr | quick charge

790cc: LED indicator (6 stage) | 50 mins run time | Charge: 1 Hr | quick charge

The 790cc has a slighty more detailed interface than the 590cc and will hence give you a better gauge as to the condition of the battery (of course being able to shave without a cord). The 790cc lasts slightly longer -- an extra 5 mins -- than the 590cc and take roughly the same time to charge of an hour. They also have a quick charge feature, where if they are dead on battery -- you can charge them for 5 minutes and that will offer you one shave. Note: they have a foil replacement indicator too (shaver heads should get replaced on average once a year)

Both shavers comes with a two year warranty coverage program (covers both labour & component costs to repair any defects that may occur with the shaver) which starts from the date of purchase.

Accessories/Attachments -- What's in the Box?

  • Series 5/ Series 7 shaver, the clean & renew system (& cartridge), a cleaning brush, smart plug and a protective travel pouch. The Series 7 is a premium leather pouch.

Average Review Rating (sourced Amazon.com)

590cc: 3.9 out of 5 (78%) from 180 + reviews.

790cc: 4.4 out of 5 (88%) from 1,500 reviews.

Conclusion Which Should You Buy the 590cc or 790cc?

Although, there is technically a difference (with RRP) of about $80 -- it is actually more like $40 (or less), so if you find this is the case then I'd advise you go with the 790cc. Where they are largely similar, the 790cc does offer that certain edge that makes shaving that much easier -- and makes it less of a chore and instead a pleasurable experience -- where you will really appreciate the pulsonic technology & personalization features etc. This being said, if the 790cc is ridiculously more expensive by more than $70 say, I'd just go for the 590cc.

Moreover, if you have any questions, concerns or general remarks about either the comparison account -- 590cc Vs 790cc -- or about either of the electric shavers specifically  (e.g. if you are wanting to know more info about the clean & renew system with both the 590cc and 790cc -- for instance, more specific info on what fast clean, active drying & auto program selection is) then please do not hesitate to make them in the comments section (just below the fold) and we will be sure to respond to you as soon as possible.
