Break Away From Your Desk With An External Laptop Battery

By | Oct 22, 2009 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

Same office, same desk and same chair. Every day, five days a week you sit here, no break from the monotony. It is a beautiful day outside and all you need to do is finish your next two proposals which should only take you about six more hours. With an external laptop battery, you could be sitting outside enjoying the sunlight, being productive at the same time.

The normal runtime on a standard laptop battery varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. Factor in its age and the amount of charge it actually takes when plugged in, anywhere from two to three hours tops. With an external laptop battery, you can feel confident with leaving the office and still being able to continue working uninterrupted.

The added peace of mind that you will not lose anything you are working on makes it that much more enjoyable. Nothing is worse than typing, copying and pasting for two hours to lose all that work due to the battery dying before saving. This is the kind of freedom you are searching for.

You could buy another battery that fits in your laptop, but at the cost of a new one for a spare, you can almost buy an extra computer. The fact that you have to shut down to change them does not help either. With the external battery, it is plug in and keep going.

An external laptop battery is not only good for getting out of the office. It can be very useful on long business flights where access to an electrical outlet is almost non-existent. These units will also charge peripherals such as your PDA with a built in USB port.

These batteries have an average runtime of four hours, coupled with the existing battery, give you more than ample time to complete any task set before you. You could however, simply run a 100' extension cord out to the bench in front of your office and avoid the whole "extra battery" thing. You will look very silly though, tethered to the building by a bright orange line.
