If some body feels that her breast size is too small according to her health and wants to enhance the body contour or to reduce the size of breast after pregnancy may opt for breast augmentation. Breast augmentation is a surgical procedure to enhance the size and shape of a breast. By this technique surgeons are able to increase the size of breasts according to the demand of the patient by inserting a silicon shell filled with either silicone gel or a saline solution. Silicone gel implants are filled with silicone gel which has a texture similar to breast tissue. A larger incision is required in case of these implants and also these cannot be inserted in deflated state of breast.

As there are risks associated with every surgery so breast augmentation is not an exception. There are common problems like capsular contracture, scleroderma, break or leakage of implant and the problems related to sensitivity of nipple after implanting. Capsular contracture is the common problem after the augmentation in which the silicon shell begin to tighten which cause the breast to feel hard, so it can be removed or treated with scoring of the scar tissue. In the medical science so far, there is no evidence that breast augmentation/enhancement can affect fertility, nursing in woman and can cause cancer also but it gives immense confident as far as bustline is concerned.

If you are planning to go for breast augmentation, be frank with your doctor to discuss why you want to go with augmentation. If your breasts are sagging then you may go for breast lift only. He/she should evaluate your health card and explain the best surgical techniques appropriate for you.

During the surgery, the incision can be made either in the line where the breast meets the chest, around the areola, or in the armpit. Through this incision, the surgeon will lift your breast tissue and skin to create a pocket to implant beneath your nipples. Putting the implant behind the chest muscle may reduce the potential for capsular contracture. However this placement may be more painful for some days. After the surgery, incisions are closed using stitches. A gauze bandage may be applied over the stitches to heal properly. Within a few days, dressings may be removed and you are directed to wear a surgical bra of your size and shape by your surgeon. A burning sensation may be there in the nipples or areolar tissues, but it will go by the time.

The result of breast augmentation is satisfying, even exhilarating for the most of women as they learn to appreciate their fuller appearance and some old ladies who recycled the time to their youth. If you have met your goals and got what you want to find, then your surgery is a success.
