Breast Augmentation Plastic Surgery Costs

By | 1 Comments | Rating: 2 | |

There are three different types breast augmentation procedures to treat different problems and produce a variety of desired results. Many women have issues with their breast for one reason or another and some to a degree where surgical enhancement is warranted. Sometimes it is for medical reasons, such as a reduction in size to relieve back pains while others want implants for aesthetic reasons. Some women want breast augmentation to give them more shapely breasts. The three different types of augmentation can be categorized as enlarging, reducing, or reshaping.

There are a number of factors that affect the cost of breast augmentation treatment and therefore the prices for individual cases will differ, sometimes considerably. The average cost for implants to increase the size is around $5,500 to $7,000 whereas the cost to reduce the size or reshape the breast averages approximately $4,500 to $6,000. Most implant procedures are coupled with a breast lift which is a type of reshaping and each treatment costs approximately $3,000 to $4,000.

Implants for breast enlargement are either made of silicone or saline. Although the material of the implant has insignificant influence on the total cost of the surgery, surgeon fees which make up a fraction of the final costs, are a couple hundred dollars higher for silicone implants.

Breast mastectomy is a more accurate term for the procedure that reshapes the breast, also known as breast reconstruction, and is often performed on patients who had or currently have breast cancer. In contrast, mammoplasty is the elective surgery to reduce the breast size and often performed on patients who experience back pain. Both breast augmentation pricing are nearly the same because it uses the same technique and process of removing tissue.

Another type of procedure to shape the breast is known as a mastopexy which is the breast lift for women who want to retain their original breast size but change the shape. It can offer perkier breasts which often will result in the breasts appearing larger and fuller. A majority of patients are women who have had children and the process caused their breast to sag.

Those who do not get addicted to plastic surgery and do not abuse their power of choice can really reap some nice benefits from controlled cosmetic surgery prices. For safety it is important that the patient knows what they are getting into and have realistic goals and expectations. Any surgery serious and all procedures, elective or medical should be evaluated carefully before proceeding.

Thank you for your information on breast augmentation. It is not quite as expensive as I thought!
