I find the Breville BJE200XL 700 Watt Compact Juice Fountain extremely powerful and efficient especially after using the Jack LaLanne that was kind of ok and served the purpose. As a matter of fact I had plans to buy the Jack again when my mother suggested buying the Breville. At $259, this is one of the best juicers in the market that top the list mainly because of the ease of use, simple yet potent design and uncomplicated features. Do not underestimate the power of this 700 watt juicer as it delivers a lot more than its deceptive simple looks. I don't think that this is compact as the juicer measures about 9-1/2x8-3/4x16 inches and by the way it is not bulky either. As for me, I make juice every day for breakfast and so this remains on the countertop and hardly goes into the cabinet.
The most striking feature of the Breville Compact Juice Foundation is the razor sharp stainless steel knife blade assembly right at the centre of the juicer that chops and minces the fruits and veggies in finest possible way to extract juice easily in less time. That means that you don't have to waste time on chopping the fruits before introducing them into the juicer be it long carrot or round apple. Breville powered by 700 watt powerful motor and 14000 rpm creates a lot of vigor inside the jar and the almost vortex like action pulls all the ingredients towards the blade, so there is no fruit bits or lumps in the extract. The juice then flows into the stainless steel micro mesh filter that strains the liquid minutely without allowing any grain of seed, fiber, pith or peel get away in the output.
The cyclonic system extracts maximum amount of juice and this gives nearly 30% extra more juice and the process is done at a faster rate. It hardly takes 2 minutes to make a cup of fresh 8 ounce orange juice. They say that the might cutter mechanism can handle pineapple with skin and you can throw in without taking the rind off. Another impressive feature is the large 3 inch feeder tube that is strategically located in the centre and this aids easy entry of fruits without slicing them. Having said that, it cannot take whole big apples and that is not a problem to be.
The cyclone system pushes the ingredients with so much force that at times some of them are thrown out and they accumulate near the top of the feeder tube and this can be pushed down. It is not that noisy and a can collect 1-1/2 quart of apple juice before emptying. Pulp is almost dry and the inbuilt pulp tray is lot better than the basket in other juicers that are fitted on exterior. To say something about the negatives, it does not have too much. I think it would be better to replace the plastic parts with metal and the juice is not crystal clear.
