You can build muscle without weights you just need to be doing all the right things to allow it to happen. If you are looking at getting a body builder type physique , when this will only be achieved by lifting heavy weights and if you want to get really big and huge then its highly likely that most of us will need to start taking banned substances to achieve it. But if you are looking at building a bit of muscle and getting a ripped up athletic physique then lifting weight does not need to be in your workout plan.

Gym memberships are expensive and most gyms contain all the latest up to date weight and cardio equipment, exercise classes, swimming pools and saunas. But speaking from experience how much of it do you actually use. Most people haven't got the time to spend hours and hours each day in the gym. They want to workout, but they also want to make it as quick as possible. You can build muscle without weights and the way to do this is by using your body weight as the weight. Body weight exercise are a great way to build up some serious muscle mass.

The first body weight exercise that we are going to look at is the chin up, you can buy a chin up bar that attaches to your door for next to nothing from most shopping malls. When you buy the chin up bar you will also receive a workout chart showing you all the different exercises that can be completed on the product. This product also doubles up as a sit up bar as well, so not only can you train your upper body but you can train your abdominal muscles as well to build up your stomach muscles to get your abs to show. The next exercise is the push up, push ups are great at giving you a full bodywork and to make your push ups even harder and more intense, trying wearing a weights vest as you are doing them.

Exercise will do absolutely nothing for your muscles though, if you are not eating the right food. To build muscle you need to be eating a diet plan that consist of complex and simple carbohydrates, fats and proteins. Protein is required to help repair and build up your muscle tissue. One of the best types of protein available are whey protein powders. Which you can quickly mix together with water, milk or juice to get your required daily protein intake. A good brand of whey protein in the marketplace at the moment is the very popular Gold Standard whey protein, which tastes delicious and is competitively priced. Once you start eating right and doing body weight exercises you will be amazed at how quickly your body responds and starts growing lean muscle mass.
