The Burger King costume is fun for Halloween or for year round. This is also known as the Creepy King, and for good reason. We often think of Kings as regal and handsome, but the Burger King costume is none of this. Instead, it is the stuff of nightmares. So if you are looking to scare little children, the elderly, and anyone with a shred of decency, this is the perfect thing for you.

Now, unlike many other costumes, it is impossible to make this one completely at home. But at the same time you don't have to spend a fortune to get a convincing replica. The main thing that you need to buy is the mask. This looks just like the mask that you see in the commercials. It is made of latex and includes both the face and the crown. You've seen the ads, so you know just what to expect. Be prepared to spend $30-40 on this alone.

Of course, you need more than just a mask if you want to dress up in a Burger King costume. The rest of the outfit isn't as important as the face, but you need to find something similar to what the mascot wears. There are two ways to do this. If you have the money, you can save a lot of time by just buying the complete outfit. The company Rubies makes one that will set you back between $70-$90, depending on where you purchase it. This comes with the red and gold robe with white neck ruffle and the large Burger King medallion.

Not everyone is willing to spend that much money for the Burger King costume, however. So you are left with the second option. Make it yourself. Since you are purchasing the Burger King mask, everyone will know what you are dressed up as. The rest of the outfit doesn't have to be an exact match, just be similar. If you have sewing skills, or know someone who would be willing to sew for you, this is the best option. You can make it look as close to the original as you want.

Without sewing skills, you can focus on getting the colors right, or getting the cut right. Look at what red and gold shirts that you own and see if any of them would match Burger King's colors. Or look for a regal looking outfit. Ask around and see if you have any friend's who have gone as kings for past Halloween. You might be able to buy or borrow their outfit. Or head to the store and see if you can get generic king costumes for cheaper than you could get the Burger King king costume.

The final idea is to forget completely about the rest of your outfit to go with your mask. You can always just use your normal clothing. Or you can make it even weirder by mixing and matching. Wear a nice tux that will make the king you look like James Bond. Or decide to go as the only thing creepier than the Burger King--the Burger King in a clown's costume.
