Buying Used Tanning Beds

By Edited Nov 2, 2016 0 0

Brand new tanning beds can be quite expensive so if you are in the market for one, why not try used tanning beds instead? You can save a lot of money if you do.

Many people who are tanning addicts would love to have a tanning bed in their home for them to use whenever they want. However, they can be expensive and if you want to get an affordable tanning machine, you should think about getting a used one.

Check the ads in your local newspaper or search on the internet for people who are selling their tanning beds. There may be some who will try to cheat you by selling non-functioning or broken down tanning beds.

However, there are also many people who are trying to sell perfectly good machines. Their reason for selling is probably to raise money for something they want or they are moving and don't have space in their new home for the tanning bed.

Before buying anything, you should inspect the machine and see if it is working. Research prices and try to haggle if you find that the asking price is a bit high. If the price is a mere 5 to 10 percent off the price of a brand new unit, you might as well buy a new tanning bed. Buy used tanning beds only if doing so will result in significant savings because it is not worth risking possible bad deals when the price is high anyway.

If the price is right, inspect the machine and make sure that all the lamps inside are working. If they need replacing, insist on the owner replacing the lamps first before buying since you will not be able to tell if it works if the lamps are non-functional.

The bed or booth should also close properly. Confirm that the cooling fans are working. Make very sure that the timer is also in good condition since this is an important safety feature.

Anything that is broken should be repaired before you buy it. It's alright if the tanning booth is not in perfect condition (that's why you are getting it cheap) but it should be cheaper the more wear and tear it has suffered. Walk away if the owner refuses to replace or repair any part since this could indicate that he or she knows that replacing a part will not work.

Simply put, used tanning beds are a cheaper option than brand-new machines but you need to check that everything is working properly before buying.
