Buying a Water Dispenser: Bottleless vs Bottled

By | Mar 1, 2010 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

The two main types of water dispenser are bottle-less and bottled. The bottled variety uses a large plastic container usually positioned at the top of the unit for water storage, whereas other variants are meant to use alternative methods of water containment. The decision of which type to purchase mostly depends on your plumbing system, your need for portability, and budget for things like delivery of water. Let's take a closer look:

Bottled Water Dispensers This type of water cooler is generally found in the home or office environment where the plumbing system isn't as reliable as would be needed for delivering water to a bottle-less water dispenser. When no reliable source of water storage and renewal is available, you'll need to rely on delivery of fresh water in bottles from a dedicated service. This is not a disadvantage, however, since the water is delivered by many different businesses that want your business, so you have plenty of options for comparison shopping for delivery services. One big advantage of a dispenser which relies on bottles is that you can potentially save lots of money on future problems with your plumbing system.

During my time researching water dispensers, many home and business owners seem to express greatly variable feelings on whether they like their bottle-less dispensers. The big x-factor here is the quality of the plumbing in your building: If you have unreliable plumbing, a bottle water dispenser is going to be a real asset. Definitely consider this so you can make an informed purchase. The last, but definitely not least, important issue is how portable the water cooler is. Remember, with a system that doesn't rely on your plumbing, you'll be able to relocated it at will for aesthetic or practical reasons without having to consider the issue of where a water supply hookup is located.

Bottle-less Water Dispensers The other option, of course, is to purchase a water cooler that hooks up to your water system. The biggest advantage is not having to rely on a delivery service for your water, simply rolling the cost of the distributed water into your monthly utility bills. This, combined with a sleeker and more professional look are compelling reasons for considering the bottle-less variety. Even if you have a questionable quality water supply, you can purchase something like a reverse osmosis water filter or even a whole house water filter to fix any problems.
