Buying the Right Fishing Boat
Buying the right fishing boat takes a lot more than just going to a boat lot and picking something out, it also requires knowing a little about what you want to use this fishing boat for. Buying the right fishing boat is going to require some research about the boats available to buy and for which sports to buy them for. In addition you likely are interesting in buying the right fishing boat that fits your budget, correct? No worries, it's easy to know what type of fishing boat to get if you're unsure and it's even easier to find a fishing boat to fit your budget.
Perhaps you're interested in getting started with tournament fishing then you're going to want a specific boat. Buying the right fishing boat for a tournament fisherman includes at least a 150 horsepower motor and a 19 foot fishing boat.
For fishing in deeper waters, buying the right fishing boat is going to mean a larger boat (about 20 feet would do) plus a stronger motor. A 200 horsepower motor is great for deeper waters. If you're only interested in light fishing then a smaller boat will work. You won't need anything more than a 17 to 18 foot boat and only a 115 horsepower motor. A smaller boat is great for fishing on a lake or river-which is something you'll want to consider when buying the right fishing boat.
The species of fish you want to catch is also a variable in buying the right fishing boat. For bass fishing a smaller boat will be fine. If you want to fish a variety of species find a boat that's adaptable. That would include a boat which gives you room to walk around and a seating arrangement that also adapts.
You might want a boat that's more than just a fishing boat. There are fishing and skiing models which will keep everyone entertained and you won't have to feel guilty if you don't make it out fishing every weekend.
Buying the right fishing boat is also about what is affordable to you. Don't buy the most extravagant fishing boat out there if it doesn't fit your needs or budget. You might also want to contemplate buying a used fishing boat. Just make sure it's in good working order.
Fishing is a great relaxing pastime and if you have the right fishing boat you'll have an even better time. Buying the right fishing boat requires you put a little bit of time in your shopping. Once you find that fishing boat you'll enjoy every minute you're out on the water fishing.

Good points. Also, be very skeptical of finding fishing boats on eBay. A lot of boat buyers have wound up getting a great deal on a train wreck. I use a premium resource called at www.BoatAuctionsDirect.com to find cheap used boats at auction.
Excellent tips, just bought a new fishing boat myself
