There are a plethora of trucking jobs in Washington State, if you know where to look. Here are some of the trucking companies that CDL drivers in Washington State have to choose from.

Con-Way
Con-Way is frequently hiring and they do not list trucking experience as one of the requirements for application (a huge perk for new CDL graduates). You typically need a Class A CDL, a HAZMAT endorsement, and a clean driving record.

CR England
This trucking giant is one of the largest companies of the refrigerated carrier trucking jobs. They haul everything from food to pharmacy drugs and are worth looking into. They even offer full benefits and a retirement plan for their truck drivers. CR England truck driving jobs are one place of employment that allows for the team truck driving options.

Swift
Swift also hires a large number of Class A CDL drivers. Many of these trucking jobs require over the road driving, also known as long haul.


Swift can be a great place for people looking for CDL jobs with no experience, as many truck drivers gain that first driving job doing over the road trucking.

Brown Line
This small transportation company employs roughly 100 truck drivers and tends to hire aggressively in the spring season.

Other ideas for CDL jobs:

Look for local truck driving jobs. Examples might be those for the county, dump truck driving jobs, even school bus driving jobs. These are the kind of trucking jobs that will ensure that you don't have to spend too much time away from your family.


Apply for trucking jobs with specific products to ship out to various companies. For example, Pepsi is frequently hiring truck drivers to get their product out to store shelves.

Look for trucking companies within the farming sector. Between all of the rural areas in Washington state and the industry of flowers and bulbs, there is a large sector of CDL jobs that involving moving these to and from where they need to go. These type of CDL jobs are especially common between the warmer months of March to September, but they do offer permanent positions to some employees. If you want this type of trucking job, start turning in resumes as early as January or February.

Turn in a resume and application at Fed Ex. It is not necessarily an ideal job for a CDL driver, but it can be a good place to get some trucking experience and get a history of driving on your resume. This company is frequently hiring, and they can be found at virtually any point in the state. The busiest time of the year and most likely time to snag one of these CDL jobs is around the holidays.

Just remember, as is true in any industry, sometimes you have to put in time at a less than ideal job to land the job of your dreams; you have to start somewhere! Be aggressive in your hunt for CDL jobs and you should find that you are not looking for work for long.
