CD DVD Rack Buyers Guide
Buying different products over the internet does present inherent risks. If you do not take the time you need to make sure that the CD / DVD tower you are considering buying is the right model, size, and style, you may find yourself having to deal with returning or exchanging it once you receive it. If you ask yourself a few questions about the tower you are thinking about buying, you can help prevent this type of situation from happening.
Question #1: How large is your collection of CDs and DVDs?
The size of the tower you purchase is going to depend greatly on the amount of CDs and DVDs that you own. However, if you have a mixed collection of CDs and DVDs, you need to make sure that the tower is able to accommodate both styles of cases. Some CD / DVD towers are only designed to accommodate one type or style of case.
Question #2: How big is the space where the CD / DVD tower is going?
Grab a tape measure and get the dimensions of the area that you are going to setup the new CD / DVD tower. If the unit you are purchasing rotates, you need to have the width of the tower, and measure that distance out from the wall. This clearance will give the tower enough room to spin freely. Verify that the measurements you have in your home are within spec for the tower you are considering purchasing.
Question #3: Is the tower you're considering going to grow with your collection?
If you are always finding yourself adding new CDs and DVDs to your collection, the CD DVD rack you buy is going to need to be big enough to account for the growing size. If you end up buying one of the CD DVD racks that fit the size of collection you currently own, you may find yourself having to buy another tower after a few years, when the one you've already bought becomes too small.
