Cafe Tables and Chairs: An Attractive Set up for your Home

By | Jun 25, 2010 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

Tables are typically available in a number of sizes and styles. This can range from smaller occasional tables which are used for more decorative purposes to more practical examples such as cafe and dining tables. Most homes will have a few different styles available to suit the needs of the people living there.

A simple way to bring the European style, bistro feel to your home is to use a cafe table set up. This generally comprises a small square or round table on a central pedestal and this typically comes with two, or possibly more, similarly styled seats. There are a couple of cafe table heights available with the one you choose depending on your preference for seats. A higher table top will usually have stools. A standard chair style will be used with a lower table.

The cafe table look is more commonly associated with a central pedestal and a cross foot base. However curved legs can also be used as an attractive alternative. Solid, durable materials such as wood, metals or plastic are most typically used in the manufacture of this section of the table.

Cafe table tops can be manufactured from a number of materials. These can typically match the table base materials for a coordinated look or a different material can be used. Attractive styles can be achieved using glass or marble tops. More functional looking table tops can use metal, plastic or wood. The table tops are not designed to be large and are more suited for light meals or coffee rather than full dining.

Cafe tables and chairs can easily be used in a few rooms of a home. The kitchen is the most obvious location and as the set up takes up less room than a full dining table, it can be a more convenient table to use. An indoor hothouse or conservatory also lends itself well to the use of a cafe style table set up. These are typically smaller rooms and the size of a cafe table can fit in well with this.

In many restaurants and bistros cafe tables are placed outdoors and this can also be done in the home. Many people have patios or other outdoor areas at their home and a cafe table can be useful in these. It can provide a place to sit, relax and enjoy some alfresco food and drink. Many tables are manufactured from durable, hard wearing materials and leaving them outdoors in the elements is not a problem.

The chair style you use with a cafe table is a consideration when you are looking to purchase this look for your home. Stools or standard chairs are the two options available and the choice really comes down to personal preference and comfort. Many like the style of a higher table with stools although if you have kids a lower table which is more compatible with child chairs can be a better option.

While cafe tables are not large in size, many homes many not have the space to have them set up permanently. In this case a table and chairs that fold up is an option. These can easily and quickly be set up when needed but have the convenience of folding flat for easy storage when not in use.
