What I'm saying is not that we want to chop off the hand of those who steals a loaf of bread now. No! Rather I am saying that severe penalty should be generalized at all cost. Obviously our legal structure is not having a powerful enough effect on those who go against the law. For instance, take drunk driving, which is far too frequent in America. The bitter truth is that too many drivers end up damaging someone else rather than themselves. I think maybe it's the moment we all changed over to the California drunk driving laws. I do prefer their "3 strikes you're out" course of action. I know that this will have a stronger impact on the general community.

With all the laws that are against drunk driving in California, sometimes I wonder how come people still insists on driving while intoxicated. It's too dangerous, plus they themselves suffer the consequences. Some people really have no regard for the law.
