Universal CityWalk Hollywood delivers a cornucopia of visual and auditory stimulation. The whimsical and colorful tourist attraction is a fun place during daylight hours, but at sundown CityWalk offers a different vibe. The entire walkway is illuminated with a potpourri of bright, eye-catching and vividly colored signposts. Some signs are cute and amusing while others are slightly offbeat and incredibly fascinating. In addition to the large bright signs, popular music plays continually throughout the area. The three-block attraction is not only a treat for the eyes and ears, but the Hollywood-themed walkway offers over thirty places to satisfy a hungry belly. A stroll through Universal CityWalk is a must for any Southern California resident and visitor.

See And Be Seen
Walking through the live performance multiplex area one can feel like they are in George Orwell’s classic novel, 1984. The enormous television displays upcoming movie releases, music videos, live stage performances, and other promotions. At times, the television will project a "Big Brother" vibe, especially when broadcasting the various visitors walking through the location. It is here that you can see and be seen.
Directly adjacent to the CW stage is the colossal Hard Rock Cafe guitar. Guests can sit inside the restaurant or in outdoor patios and dine on American cuisine. The second floor outdoor "VIP" balconies are perfect for watching stage performances while enjoying your favorite food and beverages.

"There's something for everyone" isn’t just a slogan, it's a reality at Universal Hollywood's CityWalk. In addition to food, entertainment, and shopping, there’s also a place to relax. Aqua Massage is just what the name says. Customers wear dark eye masks and listen to their favorite tunes while relaxing on a massage table. Their heads rest comfortably on a soft pillow while their bodies receive a soothing water rubdown inside a large enclosed cylinder. There's really quite nothing else like it; it’s as though hundreds of gentle fairies are tenderly kneading your body with liquid fingers. You are completely relaxed and you forget about the world around you. If you feel like you've done it all, and you just want to chill out, Aqua Massage is the perfect place. You can relax while everyone else is sightseeing.
Shopping can be a sport at CityWalk with several athletic-themed shops. The Dodgers Clubhouse Store is the place to find specialty sporting goods and clothing from L.A.'s favorite baseball team. The Clubhouse is the official store of the Los Angeles Dodgers so you know you can find something to please any diehard fan. And, if you’re not a fan of the 'big blue' team, there are other sports-themed stores on site to please fans of other teams and other sports. Other specialty shops include The Raider Image and Locker Room by Lids.

When the sun goes down, adult rebel-rousing fraternizing goes up—and that means it’s time to party! Good food, music, and libations are in abundant supply at the four nightclubs located within CityWalk. For those who believe dancing is a prerequisite to fun, the "Infusion Lounge" offers two Las Vegas-style dance floors. If you would rather relax and enjoy the music, "Howl at the Moon" has become famous for their "dueling pianos" entertainment. But, if you’re more of a kid-at-heart, "Jillian's" has a casual atmosphere and games such as billiards, cosmic bowling, and other arcade-type games. Finally, dust off your old cowboy hat and visit the "Saddle Ranch Chop House" for a fun western experience. Enjoy Southern-style food and entertainment. Try your luck on the mechanical bull. There’s also dancing every Thursday through Saturday evenings.

CityWalk is chock-full of unique, colorfully lit signs, all meant to capture your attention and hold your gaze. These luminescent symbols are brightly colored optic candy. They go on at dusk and remain lit until closing. When you walk around at night you will notice the majority of folks with their heads tilted upward looking at the massive logos. The bright signs are a big part of the attraction at the park.
There are plenty of restaurants and fast-food joints located throughout CityWalk, and one of my favorite sweet treats are Sparky's mini donuts. These bite-sized bread desserts look like baby donuts and they melt in your mouth. Customers can purchase these delicious snack cakes sprinkled with powdered sugar by the dozen, and Sparky's also offers them in a large souvenir bucket.
*Note-to-self: Never again attempt to eat an entire bucket in one sitting.

It's A Sign!
All five senses are stimulated at Universal CityWalk Hollywood but optical stimulation is the first thing you notice. Large, colorful signs display everywhere in abundance and they attract the eye (especially at night). It's easy to become preoccupied with the unusual shapes and sizes of the signs in addition to the attractiveness of the brightly colored lights. Some signs are quirky while others, like the "L.A. Angst," are funny. Some folks travel to CW to grab a quick bite to eat, walk around, and enjoy the dazzling signs.
Fast (And Slow) Food
Whether you’re searching for the perfect restaurant to propose to your mate or you just want to get a quick burger and fries, you’ll find what you're searching for at CityWalk. Enjoy the ambiance while you enjoy the food at Samba Brazilian Steakhouse & Lounge, Wolfgang Puck Bistro, Saddle Ranch Chop House, Karl Strauss Brewing Company, Camacho's Cantina, and more. Or, satisfy your fast-food craving at Hollywood Pizza & Gelato, Pink's Famous Hot Dogs, Taco Bell, KFC Express/Pizza Hut Express, Panda Express, Jody Maroni's Sausage Kingdom, Subway, and others.
