Camera Harness
I don't care if you are a professional photographer or
someone who likes to take a picture a few times a year when they go on nature
walks. In either case, you need to know about the camera harness. No, I am not
talking about the single strap that puts all the weight on your neck. I'm
talking about an actual camera harness.
The difference between the camera harness and the single strap is well there are lots of differences, actually. Comfort, convenience, safety, need I say more? I can start from the beginning though. Don't worry, when I get to the end, I'll stop. Ok, so what makes the camera harness useful and necessary?
Well here's the deal. The camera harness takes the weight of
your optics off of your neck completely. It does this by having adjustable
straps go over your shoulder around your back and under your arm to put the
weight on your back, chest and shoulders. Because your optics are not that
heavy, having their weight spread out will make them feel as if they are not
even there. As long as you go with a shoulder camera harness system, this is
one of the biggest positive aspects of such a choice.
Something else that the camera harness does is to create a
convenient place for your optics to go while your hands are busy doing other
things. After all, if you are taking a picture of anything, you'll probably
want to adjust it, walk around it, get into random positions, maybe even write
some things down. Am I close? I think so.
A camera harness allows you to grab onto them or let go of them
without any other steps. Not stuffing and storing into backpacks or bags. No
risky moments while laying them on the ground or risking that they'll fall off
of a table. You also won't need to fumble through zippers, snaps or Velcro in
order to grab them for a great photo opp. That's why a camera harness is a
wonderful way to go.
The way it works is that it has just enough slack that you
can easily bring them up to your eye level. You don't have to detach and
reattach the camera harness from your optical.
Also, they will be safe right next to you chest because there will not
be enough slack for them to swing around and cause much damage. Just one of
many reasons a camera harness is functional.
