Can Better Sleep Improve the Skin?

By Edited Feb 22, 2016 0 0

Sleep is such an important part of the day, it keeps us revived, helps to heal wounds, reduce fatigue, increase stamina, balance hormones and recently in a good study it has also shown that it can improve the quality of your skin.

Yes that is right even without a good skin care regime, they have found that by simply sleeping more than needed 8 hours a day not only will it improve health overall and reduce stress, but it will also help to keep the skin in good form as well. This study really makes sense as with lack of sleep we feel tired, demotivated, more stressed and thus it makes us more sensitive to the basic elements around us. The basic elements that the body in a healthy person could fight off. A good example is an allergy.

So what should you do to get in on this simple concept? All you have to do is to start to give your body at least 8 to 10 hours sleep a night. Let the body rest properly and the skin being one of the largest organs in the body can then do what it needs to do more effectively.

Aspects to consider with this skin care tip is to make it even better is that you may wish to do some meditation before the act of sleeping. By meditating it will help ease the body better into sleep as well as reduce stress which is a important component of skin care as well.  Next time you go to bed try this, 1 hour of meditating to 8 hours at least of sleep and then see how you feel in the morning.

Now, if you do not have time to sleep then it may be time that you need to try to adjust your life better, sleep is such an important part of all our lives. As humans and animals. In fact without sleep science has revealed that most humans would die within days, not to mention the detrimental effects on health pushing the limit on how the body can cope with lack of sleep.

Overall when you think about us as humans, we have always been an animal that has pushed ourselves to the limits. While this has helped us excel in technology and science and other areas, it has had a detrimental effect on the wellbeing and sleep pattern of what most other animals out in nature would do. In other words the human race tries to fight what nature is telling us that we need. Basically said the body needs good food, good water and good sleep. This is something we all need to address as a part of our lifestyle.

So in conclusion the skin is just like the mind and the body, it needs sleep in the same way.
