Can You Get Rid of Anxiety?

By Edited Nov 13, 2013 0 0

When someone gets their first panic attack, it can be very frightening. You usually don't know what is happening or how to cope with it and trying to take it all in can be quite overwhelming. After you realize what has happened or have been diagnosed with anxiety disorder, one of the first things to come into your head is "Will I ever be able to get rid of this anxiety?" The good news is anxiety in all forms (whether overly-anxious, stressed at work, panic attacks or anxiety disorder, severe or not-so-severe) can be treated and healed. If you suffer from anxiety, don't worry; you can get rid of it with a little change in your day-to-day life.

First of all, anxiety is caused by a prolonged circumstance of stress or tension. If your body is in a constant fight-or-flight mode, anxiety disorder as well as panic attacks are sure to follow. The most important factor in curing your anxiety is to get to the root of the problem; get rid of the cause of your tension and your anxiety will soon follow. But sometimes this is not as easy as it sounds. I highly recommend getting to the root of the problem in order to fully heal yourself, but in the meantime, here are a few tips to help you relax a bit.

1) Exercise – By exercising, your body will release endorphins which naturally make you happier, and has an effect on serotonin, which helps you relax (this chemical naturally calms down your body after the fight-or-flight reflex). Getting in the habit of daily vigorous exercise will help with your anxiety. I recommend a minimum of 30 minutes a day of intense cardio, but remember consistency is key! Working out on a regular basis is very important in order to see improvements. If you are unable to do heavy workouts, try something softer to help loosen you up; yoga and tai chi are also very effective and help to relax your muscles as well as release endorphins.

2) Amino acids – In order for our bodies to work properly, they must have a certain amount of amino acids. In fact, a lack of amino acids in our body is tied to anxiety, depression, insomnia, as well as many other chronic illnesses and poor health in general. By taking supplemental amino acids, you are naturally boosting your bodies' ability to perform at its optimum level. Amino acids are found in many protein based foods, especially fish. If you do not have a lot of fish in your regular diet, consider buying amino acid supplements (in pill form or a bottle of cod oil) at your nearest organic market.

In conclusion, although anxiety is a very serious illness, it can be treated naturally with use of the proper techniques and knowledge. You can Cure Anxiety Naturally!
