Canon Digital Camera Review - Great Choices!

Canon offers fantastic digital cameras that are loaded with features. They produce cameras that fit just about any budget.
Their cameras let you produce great shots with ease. This is an indication that people like Canon cameras and they use them often. There are a lot of reasons why Canon cameras are so popular. Canon has built a solid reputation in the photography business for over 50 years. The name is associated with quality products. The company was an early pioneer in the consumer technology business. Their camera line now includes some great models that allow all photographers, beginners and experts alike, to get an impressive range of features at good value, regardless of the price. Canon PowerShot A495 4259B001 Digital Camera - 10 Megapixel, 3.3X Optical Zoom, 4x Digital Zoom, 2.5" LCD
Available for under $120, this is the entry level Canon camera and it is packed with features. It is available in silver blue or red. At 10 megapixels, it has great image capture capability. There is a great image stabilization feature built in to allow you to take sharper photos. It has 3.3 times optical zoom and 4 times digital zoom. This brings your subject in close. This camera uses regular double A batteries. They free you from having to recharge a battery pack and allow you to have lots of extra batteries available. The lens is F3.0 to 5.8 which isn't as good as some cameras for low light conditions. It does have a good flash and stop-action capability. There is an automatic red eye correction mode. It can do continuous shooting as fast as one every 9/10 of a second. You can take video with this camera as well. It has a regular TV connection which is quite adequate for many uses such as Youtube. The auto mode handles most of what you need for photo shoots, but you have 18 available picture taking modes available. The camera takes standard, inexpensive SD memory modules which lets you take a lot of photos in a session. These let you get better action, low light, color burst shots and more. It comes with Canon's photo support software which makes it easy to transfer photos to your computer for storage and editing. The A495 is the new replacement for the A490. That camera was very similar. Many people liked that camera for its simplicity and great photos. The A495 is even better and is entry level in price only.

Canon PowerShot A3100 IS Digital Camera - 12.1 Megapixels, 4x Optical Zoom, 4x Digital Zoom, 2.7" LCD
This camera is a step up from the A495 for only about $50 more. It has 20% more pixels for even better resolution shots. It has a rechargeable lithium-ion battery which is lighter than normal batteries. The A3100 works better in low light conditions. It can take photos a little faster than the A495. It has great automatic and image stabilization features. It also has automatic red eye correction. The A3100 is a great choice and looks great in silver, red or blue. It has a slightly larger view screen with the same bright playback as the other Canon models.

Canon SD1400 IS 4180B001 Powershot Digital Camera - 14.1 MegaPixels, 4X Zoom, 2.7" LCD
This camera is another step up and is available for just over $200. It has 40% more pixels than the A495 and 20% more than the A3100. This is near professional camera capabilities. It is a sleek and compact point and shoot camera that is packed with features. It has great resolution, a 4x optical zoom, great image stabilization, red eye correction and more. The 28mm lens lets you take great wide angle photos. It has the excellent auto photo taking ability that Canon is getting famous for. This camera can use standard SD memory and the new SDXC format. This gives you the ability to store the most photos in a single removeable memory card.

Canon PowerShot SX210 IS 4245B001 Digital Camera - 14.1 Megapixels, HD Video, Wide Angle Zoom, 3.0-inch widescreen LCD, 14x Zoom
This camera gives you great HD video capability with stereo sound recording. It is just over $300. The 14x zoom feature really lets you get close to the subject. It has good low light photo taking ability. In addition to red eye correction, it has face and blink detection to help with your portraits. The top of the line image stabilization features are built into this model. These really help with wide angle video shooting. This model also has a larger LCD screen for good image playback. This camera is a very capable unit and is more costly. You may be able to avoid purchasing a separate video camera when you have this unit available.

Canon EOS series
The EOS is Canon's popular line of digital single lens reflex, or DSLR, cameras. They range in price from about $550 to over $5000. They give professional quality images. The entry model, the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XS, comes with an 18 to 55mm zoom lens. It is compatible with over 60 Canon EF and EF-S lenses and most EOS system accessories. This allows you to use professional equipment like a bounce flash to get those top quality shots. EOS cameras are really packed with features and produce quality images. The auto mode is great, but you can do a lot in manual mode. The higher priced EOS models add more megapixels, up to 21.1. This allows stunning resolution, great low light image capture and maximum flexibility. The top EOS models are truly up to the demands of professional use. They build on the history that Canon has in the film camera market. EOS was a favorite in that market. The EOS digital series makes great use of the film accessories and lets an experienced photographer use the for great effect.
