Capitalism - The Best of the Worst

Capitalism. The idea that the many invisible hands put to their own separate self-suffiencies will guide our society collectively to its zenith.

Capitalism is known as the best of the worst when referring to economic systems; mostly because the more idealistic views of Socialism or Communism work best on paper. Capitalism is also known as the system which routs all others for its benefit, begging the question, should one system which is geared to conquer be stopped simply because it meets a system whose mandate is to share?

One can see capitalism in the greed of socialist and dictatorial governments alike; one may see socialist aspects in capitalist government. If the ideas of government were not meshed into one in the real world, what use would Kim Jong Il have for a palace and riches? Likewise, what place does a public school system, library, or government controlled health care have in America? I don't think the answers are so simple.

To write about capitalism, one must remember from where it came. The bartering systems of ancient African cultures, taught to Greeks and then Rome, who formed the first modern systems of money and laws of money. From Rome to the rest of Europe, and from Europe to America, now the current capitalist leader of the world, we work 80 hours a week with no vacations for a better tomorrow. Yet tomorrow we do the same thing. Which means, to write about capitalism, one must remember what it means, as well!

Capitalism, I believe, is not just a system of money. We are capitalistic of our time, our friends, and our connections. Happy people are the ones who manage to have the best of all worlds, and do not exhaust their resources when trading one for the other.

For instance, I would love to see more articles about how to make money without trading all your time for it. Similarly, how not to trade all your time for experience. That's a capitalist notion, too; as you'll never be rich if you're only wise on your deathbed.
