Cardiovascular is a combination of two Latin words Cardio meaning heart and Vascular which means the blood vessels. So Cardiovascular means the heart and it's blood vessels.

Disease is also a combination of two Latin words Dis means a lack of or malfunction and Ease which means health. So Disease is a malfunction of health or the lack of health.

The term Cardiovascular Disease is often used to refer to a class of diseases that affect the heart and blood vessels and is often used to refer to arterial disease or diseases of Arteries (like the arteries that feed oxygen rich blood to the heart).
The typical doctor most people expect to see for their Cardiovascular disease is a Cardiologist but you may also see a Neurologist, Vascular Surgeon, Thoracic Surgeon, or perhaps even an interventional radiologist. All these medical professions are skilled in dealing with Cardiovascular Disease and may be employed in assisting in a patients treatment protocol.
