A diamond wedding band is a piece of jewelry that you will probably want to wear every day. If you want your diamond wedding ring to remain in the best possible condition then you will need to take care of it and clean it regularly.

You should remove your diamond wedding band when you are doing any rough work that could lead to it becoming chipped or otherwise damaged. You should also remove it when you are performing any activity in which it could easily be lost, for example, when you are using the sink. It will also be a good idea to remove your ring when you are doing anything particularly messy, as otherwise dirt will accumulate. You should also take your diamond wedding band off when you are using chlorine bleach, as it can cause discoloration of the setting.

If you are removing your diamond wedding band and you want to keep it safe, then you should store it in a jewelry case or box. Ideally, this should be cushioned and the ring should be kept separate from any other jewelry that could scratch it. This can be achieved by using a jewelry box that has separate sections or dividers, or by wrapping each item of jewelry in tissue paper.

You can clean your diamond jewelry yourself, of have it professionally cleaned by a jeweler. To clean wedding bands like a braided wedding rings, you should prepare a solution of a few drops of ammonia or detergent in some warm water. Window cleaner is an effective detergent for cleaning jewelry. Leave the ring to soak in this solution until it is clean. If the ring is very dirty, then you can scrub it with an old toothbrush that has soft bristles. After soaking and scrubbing the ring, you should rinse it in water and then dry it with a soft, clean cloth.

The most likely damage to occur to a diamond ring is for the setting of the stone to become loose. If this happens, you should take your wedding ring to a jewelers in order to have the stone re-set, because otherwise the stone may fall out and could be lost.

The size of your fingers may change over time, particularly if you become pregnant or as you grow older. If your ring becomes too lose or too tight then you may want to have it re-sized, otherwise you may find it impossible to remove or so loose that it can easily slip off and be lost.
