By Edited Nov 21, 2015 0 2

You are ready to book that dream vacation and all you need is a list of carnival cruise tips to make sure that you get the most bang from your trip. You have already done one of the most important things and decided to make cruising your vacation choice. There are so many things that go into making this type of trip the best that it can be. While you can have a lot of fun when you are cruising, if you do not have this list of carnival cruise tips then you may not have the fun that you dream about
-
Carnival Cruise Tips Number One
-
When you book your trip, make sure that you pay attention to the port that you will be sailing from. Getting to the ship can be an unexpected expense that many do not think about when they decide that cruising will be their vacation this year. Some times you will be able to drive and park your car at the port for a fee, while other times you may need to buy air fare in addition to the cost of your cruise.
-
If you need to book air fare, then a sub part of this one of the carnival cruise tips is to not book with the cruise company. You can get better deals if you book your air fare separately. If you are worried about your flight being late, then you can fly in a day in advance to make sure that you get to the boat on time. The last thing that you want to see is your ship sailing away as you arrive at the port.

Carnival Cruise Tips Number Two
-
Carnival has a single passenger option that can save you a lot of money if you are traveling on your own. When you travel on your own, most cruise lines will charge you double occupancy for your room. You have the option with this cruise line to have them assign you a roommate so that you are paying less. You will be matched with someone of the same sex and around your age. This is a great option for the person traveling by themselves.

Carnival Cruise Tips Number Three
-
There is a science to choosing how many bags to pack for your trip. Of course, you are going to need to take into account the length of your cruise. These often range from 3 days to over two weeks. Now aside from the length of time that you will be away, there is one little secret that you need to know. It is a good idea to pack a carry on bag like you do for the airport. This bag should include items to get cleaned up with, an outfit to wear to dinner, and even night clothes. The reason that a carry on bag is essential is that it takes a while for the regular luggage to be delivered to your room. You may have to wait until after 10pm the first night on board to get your luggage.

Carnival Cruise Tips Number Four
-
The first day on board can be full of lots of surprises and things to get used to. The first and one of the hardest is the sign and sail account. This is how you pay for things while you are on board the ship. Most things are included when you are cruising. Things that are not included are alcohol, soda, shopping, and off ship excursions. The person who signs you in will ask you if you have a credit card that you want to attach to your sign and sail account. This is the best way to go so that you do not have a bill that you have to pay the last night on board. The tip here is to have the person who signs you in set a spending limit on the account. It is very easy to over spend when you are on board. If you decide that you need to increase the limit later in the trip, you can always do so.
-
Carnival Cruise Tips Number Five
-
One of the most fun things that you can do while you are on this type of trip is the shore excursions. These are adventures that you take when you are in the different ports of call that your ship will visit. These do cost extra and are not a mandatory item. If you are interested in them, you want to book early so that you have your space in the ones that you want. The popular shore excursions book up early, so it is often a good idea to book the first night that you are on board.
-
Carnival Cruise Tips Number Six
-
The usual thing for most people to do on a cruise is to enjoy the formal dinners that are on board. This is definitely something that is not to be missed. However, there may be a time when you do not want to get dressed up and head to dinner. Something that many first timer cruisers do not know is that room service is included in their cruise. You can order a quick dinner or even breakfast before you start your day, if you do not want to leave your room.
-
Carnival Cruise Tips Number Seven
-
Every morning when you are on your trip, you will have a newsletter slipped under your door. This is your window of opportunity to know everything that is going on all day on the ship. At any time, there will be many different free events that you can participate in. There are dance classes, contests, and even ice carving shows to keep you entertained. It is often a good idea to take your newsletter with you through out the day so that you know when and where every thing is going on.
-
When it comes to carnival cruise tips, the most important thing to remember is to be open to new experiences. There will always be the unexpected when you are on vacation. Just remember to smile and relax and enjoy the ride that you are on.

Great tips! I am dying to go on a cruise. Would love to go with the hubby, but he doesn't like boats so he refuses to go on a cruise with me. I guess I'll have to hookup with a couple of girlfriends for a short getaway.

I actually went on my first Carnival cruise by myself. I made tons of friends and have been hooked on them ever since. I tried a couple of other cruise lines, but keep coming back to Carvinal.

My advice is to go out and book the trip. You will wish you had done it sooner.
