When most people think of a carport, they think of a metal canopy with poles in someone's yard. Well, they are correct in that this is what they are made of. The carport can be used for much more around the home other than just parking a car.

A carport cannot only protect your valuable vehicle from damage by the elements, but can cover your motorcycle, boat, even your RV, if you build a big enough one. The aluminum ones can also be purchased in a portable version that you may take down and put up as needed. These are particularly useful for gatherings where extra shade is needed, but not in a permanent capacity. Either way, a carport can be a great investment for you and your home.
