In order to participate you will need protective gear as well. The following are the protective equipment requirements for each sport:

Skateboarders: Helmet, knee pads, elbow pads required.
In-line skaters: Helmet, knee pads, wrist guards required.
Bikers: Helmet, knee guards required.
