Categories of Pandora Charms

For anyone interested in Pandora's line of charm bracelets, you most likely already know that the charms fall into several different categories. It can make it easier to choose charms when you know what basic categories you are interested in, and most of the online stores selling Pandora charms also let you sort the actually charms according to category.

Basic categories include alphabet beads; different styles of birthstone beads; animal related beads; food beads; a huge variety of flower and nature beads; holiday beads and special beads for celebrating different occasions such as graduation, the birth of a child, and weddings for example. No matter what you are celebrating or what special moment you are hoping to remember, you should be able to easily find a charm that signifies the event.

Pandora charms are made from a variety of substances, including precious metal such as gold, Sterling silver, enamel and murano glass. You can also find a wide array of stones used on the charms themselves, ranging from beautiful inset diamonds, rubies or sapphires to cubic zirconia stones. This is one feature that is great when it comes to Pandora jewelry; if you want something expensive you can find it but if you have a limited budget you can find an equally as nice looking charm but at a greatly reduced price. Basically, there is something for everyone's budget.

The holiday charms are really interesting. No matter what holiday season you are celebrating, you can find at least one or two different charms that you can add to your bracelet. For example, during the Christmas season you could add the Silver Christmas tree with the gold star and the gold Angel of Hope bead.

Something really fun to work with are the alphabet Pandora charms. There are a couple of different style of alphabet charms, one style has the letter imprinted on different facets of the bead, the other has a gold letter placed on top of the silver bead. You can use the beads to spell out all sorts of things, such as the name of your significant other; or the initials of your favourite football team! They can be mixed and matched with other beads too, and it always sparks others' interest when they try to figure out exactly what your letter combination means!

An all time favourite of mine from the food set is the hanging grape charm. The charm itself is made from Sterling silver, and the stone dangling from the grapevine styled charm is either a purple amethyst or a green peridot. These charms are really very elegant, nicely styled and they look great on any Pandora charm bracelet, no matter what the current 'theme' is.
