Celebrity Assistant Jobs: How to Become a Celebrity Personal Assistant
Who wouldn't love to get paid to tag along for the often luxurious lifestyle of a big celebrity? With celebrity personal assistant jobs, the work is not always glamorous, but you get to hang out with a glamorous crowd, and sometimes even luck out with a glamorous paycheck for your work. If anything, you can pretend to get your 15 minutes of fame while you work alongside of a big star as a celebrity personal assistant. Here are a few tips on landing celebrity assistant jobs.
Gain general work experience.
Generally speaking, you should have at least 4-5 years of general work experience in order to apply for celebrity assistant jobs. This way, you know the basics of a workplace and you will not have to be trained up on the simple things; a plus for someone looking to fill a celebrity personal assistant job. Anything with customer service, sales, and general time working with people could help you get your foot in the door to become a celebrity assistant.
Write a draft letter that you can send to the managers and agents of the celebrities that you want to work with.
Celebrity assistant jobs start with the agents and managers of the celebrity that you are looking to work with. You will want to write a short, but thorough letter (probably about one page long) about why you want to work for that individual and what your qualifications are for a celebrity assistant. Keep in mind that being a "huge fan" might only get your thrown into the "psycho" file; you want to show yourself as a true professional, not a stalker looking for a job! List qualities that anyone would look for in this position, not focusing on being a celebrity personal assistant just to get closer to the limelight. A celebrity personal assistant must be someone who is cool and calm, and not going to be start struck. Think of it as writing a cover letter for a job, and don't treat the celebrity personal assistant letter like it's a fan mail letter. This initial letter to become a celebrity assistant might get you a call from an interested agent, and if this happens, you'll want to move along to the next step.
Write a resume for celebrity personal assistant jobs that you can send out as a follow up to your intro letter.
Have a celebrity personal assistant resume ready should you get a call back. You will want to have listed all of your qualifications that make you a valuable asset as a celebrity assistant. Be sure and list a few references as well and be ready to go through extensive background checks before you are taken on as a celebrity personal assistant.
Join a celebrity personal assistant jobs service.
If you are finding that letters, resumes, and general applications aren't working, sign up for a service that hooks qualified individuals up with celebrity assistant jobs. You may have better luck this way but it's good to work with an agency and on your own to land celebrity assistant jobs.

One of our daughters has worked in this field. I would suggest that the person might want to start by getting their general office experience with an agency or management company for celebrities. Then, they'll have a greater chance if being considered when a position becomes available. They'll also have highly respected references.
Excellent point!
