When a child has a meltdown they are usually disciplined, when a celebrity has a meltdown they make the front page of magazines and are in the news for days. Likewise, a child who continues to have temper tantrums is often labeled "spoiled" but celebrities such as Alec Baldwin, who continue to display public tantrums, is celebrated and is even asked in interviews about his future political aspirations.Â
Children are often taught to mind their manners and not talk-back or yell. However, when Broadway actress Patti LuPone stopped in the middle of a performance to yell at an audience member for taking photos, the audience cheered and applauded.Â
One place where people usually try to avoid meltdowns, for fear of being fired, is at work. But being at work didn't stop actor Christian Bale, who set an example of one of the most childish temper tantrums on the movie set of Terminator: Salvation.Â
While this is just the tip of the iceberg, these three celebrities should serve as a reminder of how not to act in public or in private, celebrity or not.

In case you were under a rock when the following celebrity meltdowns happened, here are the recordings of the events - thanks to Youtube. Hopefully the celebrities will one day learn their lesson, but I'm not holding my breath (like a spoiled child).
Actor Alec Baldwin has had several public meltdowns, however, his 2007 voicemail rant to his daughter was one of his worst. During the message he yells and berates his daughter saying things such as; "You are a rude, thoughtless little pig. You don't have the brains or the decency as a human being. . . ."Â
Baldwin was upset because his daughter allegedly failed to answer her phone for a planned phone call. The actor went on to reprimand his daughter saying; "I don't give a da-n that you're 12 years old, or 11 years old, or that you're a child, or that your mother is a thoughtless pain in the a-- who doesn't care about what you do as far as I'm concerned. You have humiliated me for the last time with this phone. I made an a-- out of myself trying to make this call. You have insulted me for the last time. You've made me feel like a fool over and over and over again. I'm gonna straighten you’re a-- out when I see you, do you understand me?!"

This Broadway actress acted more like a diva during a live performance of Gypsy when she stopped the show in mid-song to chastise an audience member who took a photograph. LuPone chewed-out the audience member saying; "Stop! Stop! Stop taking pictures right now! You heard the announcement, who do you think you are? Get them out! How dare you! I won’t continue if they’re taking pictures. Get them out."
Patti Lupone Stops 'Gypsy' Mid Show
The Batman star got perturbed in 2008 after the director of photography walked onto the set. Bale claimed that the director ruined his concentration and he gave him a piece of his mind, a large piece.Â
Acting like a spoiled, entitled adult, Bale screamed; "Am I going to walk around and rip your ------- lights down, in the middle of a scene? Then why the ---- are you walking right through?  . . . What the ---- is it with you? What don't you ------- understand? You got any ------- idea about  . . . ------- distracting having somebody walking up behind . . . in the middle of the ------- scene? Give me a ------- answer. . . .†In an interview, the assistant director and producer of Terminator Salvation made excuses for the pampered actor, calling the outburst an isolated incident and saying; ". . . It was the most emotional scene in the movie . . . and for him to get stopped in the middle of it. He is very intensely involved in his character. . . . It was just a moment and it passed . . ."
Christian Bale's Melt Down
Getting angry is normal, however, how a person handles their anger speaks to the individual's character. Celebrities should remember that they are in the public eye and should spend as much time learning positive methods of handling their anger as they do learning their lines.
