Cellulite and What To Do About It

Regardless of your level of physical activity and fitness or your weight, anyone can form cellulite. Cellulite has a dimpled appearance and usually shows up in the thigh area, the stomach area and in the hips; it is the result of fat cells pushing against the connecting tissue the holds them all together under the skin. Creams, massage and even surgery are just some of the many different treatments that state they help you get rid of cellulite. However, when your life is a balanced combination of regular physical activity and eating a healthy diet, you will have discovered the real solution to the problem.

Eliminating the toxins that have built up in your body is just one of the techniques for minimizing the amount of cellulite on the body. However, this involves cutting some habits out and some dietary changes like avoiding nicotine and caffeine, and cutting down on your salt intake and fat intake. Alcohol should also be avoided; it not only slows down the digestion process in the body, but this in turn causes more fat to be stored in your cells from your food intake.

Drinking plenty of water and eating lots of foods that are packed with nutrients is a general rule to follow. Eating plenty of vegetables, fruits and whole grains helps to keep you high in fiber and low in fat, which is important if you want to minimize a cellulite problem. Glucosamine, essential fatty acids, and B vitamins are other things you need to have in sufficient quantities.

Moderate, daily exercise is another key component to ridding yourself of cellulite. Thirty minutes of cardiovascular exercise every day is the least amount you should do; this can be done with exercises such as walking, cycling, swimming, aerobics or even stair climbing. The muscles in your legs and the muscles in your buttocks are toned by these types of activities, and these are the areas where cellulite is commonly formed. You should also do some targeted exercises to get rid of cellulite.

Anti-cellulite pants and shorts are specific garments you can purchase which are designed to compress cellulite in affected areas and smooth away the lumpiness. These can be effective; however, they won't actually rid you of cellulite and serve only as a temporary solution to minimize the appearance of the cellulite.

Eating a healthy and wholesome diet, getting regular exercise, and restricting your intake of toxic substances are the keys to eliminating cellulite in many people. You are sure to enjoy many different benefits by doing it this way and it is certainly a healthier approach for your entire body.
