Chandelier Lighting
Chandelier Lighting is beautiful and adds new dimensions of atmosphere and elegance to any room. In addition, these lamps are decorative and add a touch of loveliness to surrounding furniture and accessories. Lights on some chandeliers can be dimmed and give off a soft and relaxing atmosphere for dining and after dining activities.
Some chandeliers have a downlight. A downlight offers a "task lighting" for the table area and helps to highlight and accentuate centerpieces or other adjacent pieces on or near the table.
Chandeliers come in many shapes and sizes. At Lamps Plus several examples of beautiful chandeliers are: Kathy Ireland Chateau Three Light Chandelier at $199.99, Vicosa Collection Bronze Finish Chandelier at $299.99 and Pretty in Pink Sway Mini Chandelier at $159.99.
Crystal chandeliers are gorgeous to the eye and come in various designs. Crystal chandeliers are also shaped differently. Star shaped crystals are elegant, unique and reflect light beautifully and artfully. At one time crystal chandeliers were viewed as symbols of wealth and power. Of course, today they are an important asset in homes--big or small, restaurants, and hotels. Heavy chandeliers often require reinforced ceilings.
In addition, if you purchase crystal chandeliers, it would be wise to check your electrical box. The electrical box should be verified because some chandeliers require an extra power load.
To help with your purchase choice of a chandelier, here are some helpful hints: A room that is 10 x 10 would look best with a 17" to 20" chandelier. A room that is 12' x 12' would need a 27" chandelier. A room that is 14 x 14; however, would require a 24" to 36" chandelier. In other words, a smaller sized chandelier will accentuate more effectively a small room; whereas a larger sized chandelier will accentuate better in a large room. If proportions of either the chandelier or room are off-balanced, then the beautiful affect of the chandelier will be diminished.
Also it is good to keep in mind that a chandelier should be at least 30" from the surface of a table to ensure that no one bumps their head.
Another tip that helps when buying a chandelier is to look for one with "shades." Buying chandelier shades helps to prevent glare and offers soft and gentle lighting.
Diming lights on a chandelier can transform the atmosphere of a room from one of family and friends to one of intimacy and romance. A brighter light, on the other hand, changes the atmosphere from one of privacy and personal to "getting down to business." It is clear that Chandelier Lighting does not only add an elegant touch to your room but also adds value in any home!
