Cheap And Easy Businesses To Start

By Edited Oct 4, 2015 1 2

There are tons of businesses out there that won't break your bank, here's a list to start

Cheap And Easy Businesses To Start

If you're a typical entrepreneur, you're not making high-powered deals or running a multi-million dollar enterprise. The typical entrepreneur lives a far less glamorous life. If you have been bitten by the entrepreneurial bug however, working for yourself is the ultimate in lifestyle upgrades. I know the feeling, I think that way myself. I spent a long time working through different ideas and had trouble finding cheap and easy businesses to start.

Open your mind to these ideas and remind yourself, just because you choose something today doesn't mean that it's what you will be doing to twenty years. That was always the hard part of getting started for me. I wanted to get into something that I could see myself doing many years down the road, and my mind just doesn't work that way. The good news is, I'm in great company. Most entrepreneurs don't think that way. We are always having new ideas and big ambitions, there's nothing wrong with that.

I digress however, let's get into the goods. Here are 5 cheap and easy businesses to start that you can get going on today.

1. Cleaning Service

I don't care what anybody says, there's boat loads of cash to be made in home and office cleaning. I know people who do this part-time and make a full-time income. You can specialize in large homes and stick to affluent clientele, or you can do office cleaning at night. There's lots of opportunity here. This is something that you can get started on today. You will need a few things that you likely already own: a car, cleaning supplies and...that's it. Simple right? This is a great place to get your feet wet in business and make some good money while you're at it.

2. Auto Detailing

You can start a detailing business today with stuff that you already have. You will need a vacuum, some rags, a wash bucket and soap and that's all. When you get a little more into it you can buy yourself a power polisher and start offering polishing services as well. Don't fool yourself, people pay big money for this.

You can choose to specialize in something. Maybe you're going to be the guy who cleans highway tractors or boats, or perhaps you can stick to RVs or business vehicles. Whatever you choose, you can start finding business today. If you want to get into the RV cleaning game, go around to the RV lots in your area and tell them you're starting a cleaning business and leave them your card. Most outfits outsource this type of work anyways and may be willing to give you a shot.

3. Lawn Care

Here's another one that you can start with nothing more than equipment that you already own. Most homeowners have a mower and trimmer already. If you have a truck, head out into the neighbourhood and start banging on doors. If you don't have a truck, approach your neighbours and people within a block or so. There's good money to be made here, especially if you start with a side business and keep your day job. You will be surprised how many people don't want to mow their own lawn. Folks are busy, so you're not getting in the way by offering to save them time.

4. Pet Grooming or Boarding

If there's one place that people are always willing to spend money, it's on their pets. Starting a grooming or boarding business is a great way to guarantee that there will be work available for a long time. And it pays well. Pet services are considered more of a luxury and as such tend to come at higher rates than other things. More and more people have dogs that they don't have time for as well, and a boarding kennel can be a great way to earn a regular income, and it can be done from home!

5. Sales Consultant

If you're outgoing and have a thriving social network, you can do very well in network marketing. The reality is, this isn't for everybody. You are representing a product and it tends to become a major part of your life. This isn't a go to work and then go home type of job. The pay however, isn't typical either. There is huge potential to make lots of money in network marketing, I know a few people who have made millions, and I know that it's possible.

The most important thing to be sure of before getting into this type of business is that you're the type of person who can do well at it. I don't believe that everybody is. These businesses tend to be sold as a 'get rich quick' type of thing and it just doesn't work like that, nor is it for everybody. If you can do it though, I highly recommend finding a product you can stand behind and becoming a representative.

There you have it, 5 cheap and easy businesses to start. Any of these can be started in an evening and do not require any special skills or training. Being an entrepreneur is not difficult or complicated, it just requires that you choose an opportunity and run with it. There are five opportunities, you no longer have an excuse not to get going, you're welcome.
