Cheap Blinds: A Guide to Buying
If you're looking for a way to save money when decorating your house, you definitely need to keep an eye out for cheap blinds. When you consider that, if you have a house with 10 windows, and that a mid-range blind can cost upwards of $100, then across a whole house, you could easily set you back a thousand dollars or more.
The trick when trying to cut the cost of your blinds purchase is to seek out quality at a low price, rather than to buy just any old rubbish just because the price is low. Luckily, though, there are a number of ways that you can save money on blinds.
One of the best options is to look out for blinds sales. When a manufacturer or store has a new product line coming in, they'll often want to sell off the old stock as cheaply as possible. If you don't mind being a few months behind the latest fashion (and, let's face it, if you're investing in blinds that will last a decade or more, you're very quickly going to move past the latest fashion anyway), then you can pick up some great deals in the sales.
Liquidation sales are another great opportunity to get your hands on a bargain. When a company is unfortunate enough to go bust, their administrators will want to sell off the stock as quickly as possible to make a bit of cash. And to sell quickly, they have to price low. This means a great opportunity for a bargain for you.
Online blinds stores are another great option. Either a specialist blinds store, or a major retailer that sells everything under the sun. The low overheads of an internet store mean that blinds prices are much lower, and you can save a lot of money. Bear in mind though, that the heavier the blind, the greater the cost!
Different types of blinds have different strategies. I've found particular success looking for cheap roller blinds by simply avoiding the retail option, and making my own DIY blinds. This works because they are so simple to make. You can also easily make your own cheap roman blinds.
On the other hand, if you're after cheap mini blinds, which are much more complex to make yourself, you'll want to keep an eye out for sales, where you can pick up quality for a lower price. The same goes for cheap wooden blinds - if you need your blinds made of wood and you're not a carpenter by trade, you're best off going for the retail option.
In summary, there are plenty of options for buying cheap blinds without compromising on quality - the only thing you have to do is get out there and look for them.
