Buying cell phones online has never been easier. We decided to take a look at three phones on the Amazon.com site.  Prices are only valid at the time of writing and are subject to change.

This cell phone comes unlocked and is ready for GSM carriers such as AT&T and T-Mobile but may have problems with CDMA carriers such as Verizon Wireless, Alltel and Spring. This is a smartphone with a 2.8-inch touch screen and keyboard which slides open.  It features a 2-megapixel camera and camcorder, digital audio-video player, MicroSD expansion to 16 GB and a Bluetooth stereo music. The battery lasts for up to four hours talking or 264 hours in standby.  61 customers reviewed this product with 19 people awarding a four-star rating. Some of the problems that customers have encountered were the screen freezing and some complained about the battery life, while others clearly stated that they had no problems with the battery.

This phone can be used as a 3G mobile hotspot for up to five devices and runs on CDMA 800/1900 frequencies, EV-DO, and Rev A 3G frequencies. There is 8 GB of internal memory, Bluetooth stereo music streaming, a 2-megapixel camera/camcorder and a 1150 mAh lithium-ion battery that lasts for up to 5.2 hours talking and 350 hours in standby. 312 customers reviewed this product and 150 gave it a five star rating and 59 gave it four stars with an average of 3.7 out of 5 stars. The major disadvantages noted were that the phone is slightly slower to run and customers loved the use of gestures to control the phone but there is no hands-free option.

The 1030 mAh lithium-ion battery works for up to 4 hours talking and 96 hours standby without needing to be recharged. It comes with a camera as well. It runs on the following frequencies: 850, 900, 1800, 1900, GSM, GPRS and EDGE. Out of the 104 customers that reviewed this product, the average star rating was 3.2 out of 5 and 29 rated the phone five stars while 18 rated it two stars and 23 rated it three stars. This is a good choice if you are looking for a simple phone for calling and texting.
