The motorized treadmill can be used for things like walking and running. The manual treadmill can only be used for walking and jogging. Motorized treadmill models can have the incline adjusted automatically. If you use a manual treadmill then you must stop for a few minutes to adjust the incline angle. While most treadmills sold on the market today are motorized, you can still find a good cheap manual treadmill. The average price for a manual treadmill is around $100, the average motorized treadmill price is about $400.

Folding Treadmills & Non-folding Treadmills

If you are short on space or are not willing to sacrifice space then getting a folding treadmill could be your solution. However, the added convenience comes at a price because a folding treadmill is more expensive than a no-folding treadmill. Folding cheap treadmills also have a greater chance of breaking because they have more moving parts. Unless you have a strong desire to get a folding treadmill, I would suggest going with a regular non-folding treadmill.

Consider a Used Treadmill

If you are both short on cash and have a need for advanced features that are only found on expensive treadmills then getting a used treadmill may be your only option. There are plenty of cheap treadmills that have a good strong motor, can be folded, and also have a wireless heart rate control monitor. You have to remember to really check over the treadmill before you purchase it though because you will not be able to return it to the owner in most cases.
