Take Advantage of the Price

Most people tend to argue that the earlier you purchase your ticket, the cheaper the price is. That is proven to be a false statement. In fact, the number one mistake that travellers make is booking their ticket early. If you happen to be one of these people, you could be saving a lot more money than you think, especially in the summertime. Unless you are planning to travel on high traffic days, or in the high season, your best chances are booking the ticket 45 days in advance. Very few airline computers are programmed to give you a deal after that 45 day window.

If you are looking for a deal on airfare, the smartest thing to do is to be flexible with with your dates. Even though flexibility is great, the advance part may cost you money. In the summertime, there is a huge difference with the cost of a ticket between the months of May and August. The reason for that is because most travellers will always buy their tickets in July or August. Most airlines will increase their price if the traffic and demand for the tickets increase. That is why it is important to always delete your history and cookies before you check for an update on a price.

The best time to buy your ticket for your summer vacation is mid-April. Statistics have shown that eight to ten weeks in advance is perfect. Almost 100% of the time, the difference in prices is no more than $45 for domestic travelling. Difference with prices for international travelling can range from $60-$95.  Databases have shown that more than 60% of tickets purchased in the summertime include such famous destinations like Cuba or Dominican Republic

These are incredibly famous destinations for the summer. These are cheap and affordable package deals. Also once you arrive at your resort everything is inclusive. You do not spend a dime on food. Only if you choose to leave your resort and go scuba diving, you do not have to spend more than $50 for a two week vacation. The average price for these package deals are cheaper in August and you can find them online for around $700.

So if you are looking for affordable and reasonable flight tickets to buy in the summertime, do not wait more than eight weeks in advance. Avoid costly mistakes with the dates. Something many travel agents would recommend is too buy the "Date Change" for the summer, and the airline will allow you to change the date if you can not make it on time. Enjoy the summer!
