Make a Chocolate Four Layer Pudding Dessert

This chocolate four layer pudding dessert is delicious to eat and luscious to look at. It looks and tastes like you have been in the kitchen for hours, but it is one of those easy recipes that will make you look like a skilled chef. Whatever the occasion, this pudding dessert will be the answer to ‘what’s for dessert’, and when taken to a covered dish dinner, you can be assured your dish will be empty when you leave. Since pudding dessert must be refrigerated, make sure to have space in your refrigerator to keep it.

Gather the ingredients to make this chocolate four layer pudding dessert:

1 stick butter or margarine

1 cup all-purpose flour

½ cup finely chopped nuts, pecans or walnuts

1 – 8 ounce package cream cheese

1 cup 10X Confectioners sugar

1 tsp. vanilla

1 – 8 ounce container Cool Whip

1 package (3.4 ounce size) chocolate instant pudding

1 package (3.4 ounce size) French vanilla instant pudding

2 cups milk

Let's cook!

1st layer

Bring the stick of butter or margarine to room temperature. Stir in the flour, and using your hands, mix the butter and flour together. Once well blended, press it into a 13 x 9 inch dish; it will be thin. Using your hands, pat the chopped nuts into the butter and flour mixture. Bake in a preheated 375-degree oven for 15 minutes. COOL COMPLETELY!

2nd layer

Place the package of cream cheese on the countertop to soften. When the cream cheese is soft, stir in the confectioners sugar and vanilla. Next, stir in 1 cup of Cool Whip. Spread this mixture over the cooled first layer. Place in the refrigerator to chill.

3rd layer

Blend the chocolate and the French vanilla instant puddings together, and stir in the milk. Using a mixer, beat two minutes at medium speed. Spread over the chilled cream cheese layer. Place in the refrigerator to set the pudding.

4th layer

Spread the remainder of the Cool Whip over the cooled pudding layer. Before serving, sprinkle Hershey’s candy bar shavings on top.

In Closing

This four layer pudding dessert can also be made using other flavors of instant pudding. For instance, try substituting lemon pudding, and add lemon zest as a garnish. Or, how about using coconut pudding, and sprinkle toasted coconut on top. Also, there is a seasonal flavor of pudding called pumpkin spice; chopped pecans are tasty on this pudding dessert. Personally, I'd skip the coconut, but I know some folks like that It does sound great1
