Choosing a Teeth Whitening Tray
If you have ever contemplated whitening your teeth, chances are good that you thought about trying a teeth whitening tray. There are a number of different teeth bleaching kits that come with these trays, so it may be difficult to decide which one is right for you. This article will answer some frequently asked questions about the benefits and the ease of using teeth whitening trays, and while help you to compare teeth whitening methods to find the best affordable tooth whitening solution.
Q. Is a teeth whitening tray expensive?
Due to the popularity of at-home tooth whitening, there are a wide range of cheap teeth whitening trays out there that can be purchased from your favorite drugstore or supermarket. Many of the popular toothpaste manufacturers - including Aqua Fresh, Rembrandt, and others - are now offering these at-home trays at a very inexpensive cost.
You may have also heard of a new technology in tooth whitening called thermoforming. When you purchase a thermoforming teeth whitening tray, you'll notice that it is very different than other trays on the market, as it conforms to the shape of your specific tooth structure by being soaked in warm water, and then pressed directly onto your teeth. It essentially creates a unique mold of your mouse which can then be filled with whitening gel that comes in the teeth bleaching kit. As thermoforming teeth whitening trays become more popular, they will become easier to find and more affordable.
Q. How do disposable teeth whitening trays work?
A completely disposable teeth whitening tray comes pre-filled with the tooth whitening gel. It is only used one time, and once the tray has remained on your teeth for a designated period of time - typically 30 minutes to an hour - it is then thrown away. Each teeth bleaching kit in this style will come with a certain number of trays for between 7 to 21 days of tooth whitening. While this is a simple and effective solution, one thing to keep in mind is that disposable teeth whitening trays typically do not conform as well to your teeth as other options.
Q. What about reusable teeth whitening trays?
This is a great option if you don't mind cleaning your teeth whitening tray after each use and repurchasing the gel as needed. Reusable trays are made of a rubber-like material which is malleable and generally will fit closely to your teeth and more uniformly than flimsy disposable trays. You simply insert the designated amount of whitening gel into the top and bottom of the tray, then bite down while the gel forms around your teeth. Again, these do need to be cleaned between uses, but they are are excellent way to affordably whiten your teeth without having to repurchase the entire teeth bleaching kits for continued use.
