Choosing and Using Cooking Pans

By | 0 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

Many people use cooking pans on a daily basis. Whether you are frying eggs for breakfast or frying some burgers for dinner, you need to have good quality cooking pans. How should you choose your cooking pans? Make sure you know what you want and get it in good quality for a good price.

Are you looking for a frying pan, griddle, pot, stock pot, sauce pan, etc.? If you are looking for them all, you might need a good set. Getting a set can save you money instead of if you bought them each separately. If you buy 5 pans separately, it could cost you quite a bit more than if you bought them in a set. Also, you can ensure all the same quality, hopefully good quality, with all 5 pans.

If you are looking for a frying pan, skillet, or griddle, I highly recommend something made of cast iron. Cast iron lasts a long time and performs very well. If you season it (bake it in the oven with grease on a low temperature for a couple hours) it will stay nonstick through each use as long as you don't use soap and a sponge to scrub it clean. If it needs it, you can clean it and re-season it.

If not, I would suggest staying away from nonstick coated pans. This coating is often toxic and can easily scrape off and wear away into your food. You should try to use aluminum, stainless steel, or copper. Test them out to see which works best for you.
