Choosing the Right Bird House Feeders

By | Dec 16, 2009 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

One of the most essential things which makes your house complete is the bird house feeder yard. This is a very useful item as it helps feeding those little flying creatures that visit your backyard. Also it decorates the outdoor living space of your house. It is somewhat difficult to identify suitable bird house feeders because of various reasons. But once you are familiar with them it is very easy to pick just the right one for your home.
Many people prefer to choose a bird house feeder that is old fashioned and can be made to fit onto a pole or a tree. Even I have these old fashioned birdhouse feeders but I won't suggest these as the best choice if you have too many squirrels in your area. Sometimes, raccoons also cause major problems.
The birds don't get sufficient seeds that are contained in the unit. Because squirrels and raccoons can easily get inside the bird house feeder that are made of wood and are hung on either a pole or a tree. Many times I have observed that these critters empty out the entire unit.
Another problem is when birds begin preparing their nests in the open units. It is easy for raccoons to enter the bird's nests and snatch their eggs while the bird rests inside the feeder. Unfortunately my bird house feeder became a treat for the neighborhood raccoons and squirrels making it the best place for them to satisfy their hunger.
Manufacturers are aware of this problem and to counter the dilemma in the buyer's mind, they have come up with bird house feeders in various designs that are made with different materials. Personally, I love the wooden bird house feeder as it has that natural appeal for birds and offers a distinct rustic look. With a few modifications, this bird house feeder unit works pretty well.
In general a costlier bird house feeding unit is made of superior quality materials. Say for example copper. Many manufacturer's designs provide assurance that they provides full protection against squirrels and raccoons, but not every design meets this promise. It is better suggested to read quality reviews from an objective point of view and then make an unbiased decision. This aids a lot in finding out how the real bird house feeder actually works.
It is up to you to decide which material suits you the best as there are multiple options, so that you can identify the right kind of bird house feeder for your home.
