And with the faith as high as that, you can answer with no doubts the hanging question without even thinking for a microsecond. That is what this article is all about. Having faith.
"Faith cometh by hearing and hearing the Word of God" Romans 10:17
For you to have faith, you must let Jesus talk to you by his Words. We will tackle on how we can assure that we have salvation according to the Scriptures.
The Holy Spirit
"The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children" Romans 8:16
"Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, 'Abba, Father.'" Galatians 4:6
In Jesus' ascension to Heaven, he never really left us alone and unsecured. He has given us the Holy Spirit. The Spirit always watch over us and before we have accepted the Lord, we were never really able to feel its presence. The Spirit knows everything that happened in your life. After you have received salvation and u-turned, you feel less burdened, problem free, satisfied and content. This is the work of the Holy Spirit. It means that the Holy spirit is now in fellowship with you. You will soon learn about the fruits of the Holy Spirit and what power it endows us at a special topic about the Holy Spirit. What's most important now is that when you started to feel the Holy Spirit's presence, it means you are on salvation's road.
The Word of God
"I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life." John 5:24
The Bible directly witnesses on our salvation by this passage. The Word of God is truly an evidence.
Your Changed Life
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" 2 Corinthians 5:17
The ways in your lifestyle is the witness for people around you. Goodness never saved you. But after you have been saved, this is what is added to you. Truly your changed life is the testimony of God's act of salvation.
With these witnesses as your reference, doubts no more have a place in your life. You have received your salvation, then the assurance. Now you must treasure it. Never let this privilege of being in the list of 'Eternal Life Beneficiaries' be lost. God already has your name written in the book of life. The thing is, it can, at any time, be removed. Not by God. God never take back the salvation He gave. It is you who can lose it yourself. How? Here's How:
Inviting the works of the devil
You must never once again put your salvation in jeopardy by going to places where sin is everywhere. By doing this, you are inviting the devil to tempt you and you are not that strong enough in spirit to resist. Satan will never lose hope in dragging you once again to Hell so you must avoid encounters.
Being lazy means tardiness in seeking the will of the Lord. You must always listen to what the Lord is saying. Always ask Him how you could fulfill His will and He will always be faithful on showing show you how.
Rebuke pride in your life. Pride comes into play when the Lord want to change some vices in you and you feel that nothing on you needs changing. Avoid this. This is Satan's number one weapon.
Grieving the Holy Spirit
Always seek the Holy Spirit. Never ignore it for His presence is your spiritual strength. When He grieved on you, you will soon run out of spiritual strength which leads to spiritual death. You don't want to be going back to where you're from.
What needs explanation. The wages of sin is death.
In a nutshell, to assure salvation and never lose it anymore, LIVE AND ABIDE BY THE WORD OF GOD. The Bible says all that you need to know. In the pillars to come, you will learn that Reading the Bible is one of our spiritual maintenance.
With these, I hope that doubts are erased from you. Please do not move on to the next articles if you feel you haven't grasped it. The foundation of faith is needed for the next set on the series. Without it, I'm like blubbering at air. Meditate on it. And if you feel that you have raised your faith at least a bit, let's move on.
