Christmas Toys: Six Less Well Known Choices For Boys

By | 0 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

The Toy Retailers Association Dream Dozen list of boys toys for Christmas 2009 has just been published. Half of the toys you will probably already have heard of, such as Transformers figures, and Nerf and Star Wars blasters, but there are another six that you may not have heard of. They all cost less than £50 and here is a quick summary of what they are all about.

  • Screature: This dinosaur is a sensitive little creature. Well he's not actually that small, standing at 30cm tall. He is very popular with boys as he reacts to touch and motion around him. He can rise up, puff out his frills and spit water in an attack if you touch him on the nose or can be pacified into purring by stroking him on his back. He is well made and easy to activate although he does not walk about.
  • GX Racers Tightrope Terror: This GX Racers set performs, as its name suggests, high flying stunts. By using a gyroscope and a ripcord, you send a 4 wheeled car across a tightrope at high speeds. You can use the tightrope that comes with the set or set up your own between two points in your room.
  • HM Armed Forces Tank: Taking over from Action Man, the new HM Armed Forces range of toys features action figures, vehicles and other role play accessories. This large army tank is camouflaged and comes with a firing missile and rotating turret. Two of the range of action figures can fit inside the driving hatches.
  • Ben 10 Alien Force - Kevin Levin's Action Cruiser: Ben 10 toys are probably known to most parents of young boys, however, this car of Kevin's may not have featured in your buying decision. It is however, in the list of top toys this Christmas due to its ability to be used in great Ben 10 role play. It transforms into battle mode and can shoot out alien pods of planetary powder.
  • Gormiti - The Lords of Nature Return - Guardian Creature: These Gormiti sets include a 12cm Tribal Lord action figure as well as a guardian creature. Both are posable and the creatures also have an attacking feature.
  • Bladez Salvation 3D Helicopter with Flight Stick: This remote controlled helicopter will be a great choice for any children that love RC cars. They will take full control of a flying helicopter with a joystick type controller that includes vibration control. It can fly 8 metres from the Flight Stick for an 8 or 9 minute period.
Hopefully the above has given you a bit of information on some of the less well known boys toys that you can consider for presents this Christmas.
