Chronograph Watches
Information has long empowered the human race. The more information we have the better our lifestyle, the more comfortable our living can be. Information tells us when to plant and when to harvest, what economics policies to enact, who to elect, and what kind of toothpaste we should use. Information is used by business to streamline operations and turn better profits. Any device that can generate more information is a welcome sight to human kind.
Chronograph watches have been used for a long time to measure time with more accuracy and precision. "Chrono" means 'time' and "graph" means 'to write' so we see that a chronograph watch is something used to write time, or more accurately to record and measure time.
The first chronograph wristwatches made their appearance in the public in 1910 allowing the common man access to a device that could gather much data for them. Further advances in technology during the coming decades allowed for waterproof chronograph watches which allowed divers to know how much air hey had left in their tank. Obviously a very important piece of information.
Chronograph watches have been used by two industry's with great success. Racing (of any kind) and military. Racers be they sprinters, horse racers, dog racers or NASCAR drivers benefit from chronograph watches because they get a more accurate reading of their performance essentially. They can then test different variable to see their effect on the outcome of the race and hone their racing skills. Without the chronograph watch competition wouldn't be as intense or exciting to watch!
Military has used the chronograph in ways that keep us safe. They use them to hold their soldiers to higher levels of physical fitness that keep them and their comrades safer than if they weren't held to such a high standard.
The chronograph watch is a wonderful device for gaining more information that allows us to further improve upon our systems, safety and health.
