Cleaning Wood Floors with Swiffer
I've seen an outcry on the internet wondering, "How do I go about cleaning wood floors?" And, the answers to this inquisition are basically the same. Sweep your wood floors often so that dirt doesn't lay on the floor and chance scraping them up. Don't use a lot of water when you wash the floors, because water can make the wood expand. You should only have to wash your floors once a week. Be sure to place mats at the entry ways in order to catch dirt and debris.
I have found a better way of cleaning wood floors with the product line called Swiffer. You've seen the commercials, where the broom is singing to its owner, "baby, come back". Swiffer suggests by their commercial that once you use Swiffer, you won't want to ever go back to your old broom and mop. And the poor old broom or mop comes back to the front door (or stands in the yard) begging their owner to let them come back. When it comes to cleaning wood floors, the commercials can't be closer to the truth.
The first time I used Swiffer products, I knew I was never going back to my old broom and mop. The ease of use of the products was my first thought. Once put together, they are always ready to the job quickly, efficiently, and without as much effort as the old broom with the dustpan and the mop that you have to squeeze out every five minutes. Cleaning wood floors has just turned a new leaf.
To pick up the dirt and debris on your wood floors, the Swiffer Sweeper Vac does the job. It requires a bit of assembly, but once you've accomplished that, your daily cleaning time will be reduced tremendously. The Sweeper Vac is not made for large pieces of debris. And, hopefully, large pieces of debris aren't getting on your hardwood floors. The only complaint that I have about the Sweeper Vac is that the compartment that holds the dirt picked up from the floor is incredibly small. It won't hold much. But, I have to remind myself that it is designed for cleaning wood floors, not cleaning mega messes!
The Swiffer Wet Jet is made to decrease the amount of water used on floors, creating the perfect product for cleaning wood floors. You simply pop one of the moist pads on the bottom of the Wet Jet, add a bottle of their own solution for wood floors onto the handle, and you're on your way to cleaning wood floors the easy way. The Swiffer Wet Jet glides across the floor with ease of use. Swiffer even manufactures a mat for your entryways that boasts its absorbing abilities to entrap dirt and mud before people enter your house onto you wood floors.
Because Swiffer is made for all floors, my old mop and broom took a trip to the trash can. They can sing me whatever song that they want to, but they're not coming back. The days of sweeping into a dustpan and mopping over and over the floor with the same old dirty water are long gone.
