Clothing Tips for Senior Portraits
While your senior portraits should reflect your personality and be as unique as you are, some thought should be put into what you will be wearing since what you're wearing can truly make or break your senior photos. There are clothes that photograph much better than others, as relayed by a renowned Salt Lake senior portraits studio. So what exactly should you wear?
· Bring a handful of different outfits to create various looks and shots.
· Solids tend to photograph better than words and/or patterns on clothing since they can detract from the face.
· If you'll be shooting photos outside, avoid wearing colors that clash with outdoor settings including orange, turquoise, pink, and greens. Instead, stick to darker solids such as purple, reds, blues, and black.
· Beware of yellow, white, and other light shades - tight-fitting clothing in such colors can accentuate weight.
· Avoid horizontal stripes - they also tend to strongly emphasize weight.
· While girls can wear dresses and skirts, wearing pants will allow a wider range of poses if shooting outdoors.
· Vertical lines and loose-fitting clothing have a slimming effect in photos.
· Wear at least one classic outfit avoiding current trends so it won't be outdated in three years.
· Feel free to wear outfits that show off your hobbies or activities you are involved in, such as a football uniform or cheerleading outfit.
