Collecting pins in Club Penguin
Every two weeks, Club Penguin hides a collector's pin somewhere on the island. The pin is small and can be difficult to spot, but it is really fun to look for it. It is always in plain view. The pin itself is usually part of a theme. For example when the Dojo was being rebuilt and the snow removed to make room, the pin was a snow shovel. When the Christmas Party was being held this year, the pin was a green present with a red ribbon.
The pin is usually hidden on Fridays and you can see the date when the new pin will come out in the Club Penguin newspaper. You can find the pin by searching each of the Club Penguin rooms by yourself and looking for something new that wasn't there before. Or you can team up with buddies and try to find it together. If you don't want to search, you can always find out where it is by reading some of the various Club Penguin blogs or by checking a Club Penguin Pin Tracker. These are special web pages and widgets that Club Penguin players make to show where the current pin is hidden and what it looks like.
The pins do not give you any special abilities in Club Penguin but it is considered a status to have collected as many as possible. Once a new pin comes out the old pin is no longer available, so collecting them requires you to log into Club Penguin at least once every few weeks. There are more than 80 pins in total, so some people have been collecting them for almost two years!
