Colored Contacts Without Prescription

By | 0 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

Many people today, especially people in their teens and twenties are interested in how they can change the color of their eyes. This can be done if you're looking to make over how you look or just want to make a subtle change to your already beautiful self. The process is fairly simple and straightforward. We'll outline the basics so that you can be on your way to some sparkling eyes.

What Are Colored Contact Lenses?

When you want to get colored contacts without prescription, what you're really in search for are non corrective colored contact lenses. These do not have any vision correction. If you do not normally wear contact lenses, you can get these and they will not change your vision at all. They will simply just change the color of the iris of your eyes. There is a hole where your pupil will show through. They are safe to wear if you take good care of them.

Do You Need to Get a Prescription?

Even though they are just changing the color of your eyes and not changing your vision in any way, you really should go see an optometrist and get a prescription. It's actually illegal for retailers to sell them to you without getting your prescription in countries like the United States and Canada. It's just a good idea to do it because then you get a custom fit and they will also feel more comfortable when you wear them.

Getting the prescription is really quite easy, actually. Just find a local eye doctor and make an appointment. Say that you want to get fitted for non prescription colored contacts and they will know what you want. Often, you can get a good price on an appointment if you go to a department store or you may find that optometrists at your local mall will have sales on eye exams - so watch for those to happen.

Choose Some Great Colors!

It starts getting really fun when you get to choose the colors that you want to try. Yes, you should try a number of different colors so that you can see how each color looks. For example, if you have darker colored skin, then a pair of green contact lenses would look really good on you.

As you start choosing colors, you should know about the different types of colored contact lenses that are out there. There are two basic kinds, which are enhancements and opaques. Enhancement contact lenses let some of your natural eye color show through while opaque contact lenses totally cover up the natural color of your eyes. Naturally, if you have dark colored eyes and want to lighten them up, then you will need to go with the opaque type of colored contacts. People with light colored eyes can try either kind.

If you do go with opaques and have dark colored eyes, then you might not want to go with too light of a shade for your new eye color. Since your pupil can change its size depending on how much light needs to come into your eyes, there can sometimes be some of your natural eye color showing through and this will make it more obvious that you're wearing colored contacts. Again, try different types to see which color and brand work for you but also make sure you have some variety when picking out colors in case this starts happening, which it might.

Cheap Colored Contacts - Is That the Way to Go?

One thing to definitely be on the lookout for is the cheap colored contact lenses and not in a good way. Going cheap on things that you're sticking in your eyes is a very, very bad idea. I saw a recent news story where a teenage girl almost went blind when she was using some cheap colored contacts. The problem is that to sell them so cheap, the manufacturer has to cut corners somewhere, so they might use low quality materials or worse yet, cheap paint that could be toxic for your eyes. So resist the urge to get cheap contacts - it's really not worth it. No way.

Order Your Colored Contact Lenses

After you get your prescription, you'll be on your way to ordering your colored contacts! You now know the process, how the different types of colors work and that you should avoid the cheap ones for sure. Come back here and leave some comments about your experience once you've tried them. We'd like to know how things worked out for you!
